How do you pick a site? And where do you get green ears?

Well, we just got back from the Fort a couple weeks ago and I have just booked for March 17th - 26th 2011! We will be in a big Green bus, now, we just need to find our how you get the green ears?
Also, we have stayed in loop 100, 400, and lastly 1400. We prefer 100-400 is there a trick to making sure we get a site in one of those loops?
We just cannot wait to get back down there and hope to run into some of you when we go!
AND thanks to all the decorating nuts at the fort I now have 4 huge blow up decorations, would it be uncool to bring a 20 foot snowman in march?

welcome to the board, most peps make their own green ears, plenty of threads on how to do this, just do a search for "making green ears"

Welcome! As the previous poster said, we make our ears ourselves. If you do a search for green ears you will find lots of different examples of what others have done. Some print them out, others make them out of wood. Have fun, be creative and be sure to show us what you come up with!

Any advice on the site thing? As far as asking for a certain loop?

A lot of folks fax in their request 4-5 days before their arrival. The fax# for the Fort is:407-824-3508

Here is the example fax that has been floating around the boards:

I am really looking forward to my stay at the Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground and am writing about campsite requests. I do understand that these are only requests and cannot be guaranteed.

If possible, I would like a site in Loop xxxx with a site that will accomodate the following: (list your "stuff" here) and near (whatever you want to be near).

My green ears are a work in progress too! Mine are wood with a 12 inch and 2 8 inch circles painted alien green.I used stick on letters from a craft store to post our name now Ive just got to decorate it

I did end up changing the name on the ears to "Lil' Lisa" instead of "The Kremers". I realized that if I wanted people to find me, I would have to use a name that they would recognize!

As far as getting the loop you want....

Loop 100-300 are the "preferred" category. Those are the only three loops in that category, so if you book preferred, you will definitely get 100, 200, or 300.

Loop 400 is a "premium" loop, so if you book premium, loop 400 will be one of your choices.

However, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, and 1400 are also "premium", so getting 400 is a lot harder.
