Hi - We had the DDP last christmas but I can't quite remember how it worked!!

Do you need to carry all 4 (in our case as we are a family of 4) KTTW around with you and they scan a credit off of each one. Or is one member of the family carrying one card enough to 'buy' all of our meals?

Do we sign for them at the till point or is it just swiped?

My eldest son got a real kick out of getting his own meals poolside on the Disney cruise in the summer and I was wondering whether he can do the same poolside at the contemporary when we go? - (but not sure he would get the concept of signing anything - but swiping his card would be fine). We would obviously be with him, but would let him go get his food himself if thats allowed.

And am I right in thinking that you can have your childrens card with just the DDP credits on (and no credit limit attached)? It would be one thing letting him take his card to get CS snacks, but another thing entirely letting him make purchases on my CC!!!):scared1::lmao:

When we ate, I had to present both my and my daughter’s cards each time to pay whether it was Table service, quick service or we were getting a snack. Her card did not have any charging privileges on it, only park tickets, hoppers and meals.

This should not be unless you were staying in separate rooms. You only have to show 1 card per room. The card clearly states how many people are tied to that card. If you have 2 adults and 1 child it will say 2AD/1CH on the card.

Can't help with the Contemporary poolside food as I have never stayed there, but I'm pretty sure you son can get his own meals with his KTTW card, you just need to make sure he knows what he's allowed to get under the plan.

ditto with plutolvr's post. We have used both the DDP and the DxDDP about 15 times in last 3 years, including twice in last 4 months...only one card per room is required to purchase food at counter service/pay the bill at table service. At counter service, you give them your card & they can ring up the whole room: you don't sign for anything unless you're buying items that are not allowed (like a beer) In which case, you'll be asked for cash/credit card or charge to room for the non-allowed items. You can put no-charging on child's card to avoid unexpected charges. At table service, again, they'll bring the bill & give the one card (if you're planning on charging tip, alcohol beverages, etc. make sure you give them a card with room-charging priveleges.)

If your party is in separate rooms, then make sure to tell the server when ordering which meals should go on separate tickets...they will need one card per room. We've traveled with people in separate rooms many times...we present one card from our room, and the other couple presents one card from their room...only time that was an issue was when a server mistakely rang up the entire table on one bill and had to re-do the whole thing to separate the charges between the two rooms.

You willl need all cards to enter the parks, of course, since each person has to swipe card & do the finger scan at the ticket turnstyles.

We just got back from a ten day trip(17-27 Dec). All we had to do was present one card from each room for our meals.

Everyone has to have their own card to get in the parks but it only takes one card to pay for the entire family's meals. Your child CAN use his own card to get his meal if he wants to and some places do have you sign the receipt when you pay using dining plan credits. Any child old enough to write their name can sign the receipt for their food. We had about half the CS places ask us to sign and the other half just swiped the card.
