I just purchased Cinderella's deluxe wedding costume for my DD for our Sept trip. As I was looking at it last night - I was wondering how in the world am I going to pack this dress?? :confused3 Its so big and fluffy - will it fluff back up after being smashed into suitcase? Just wondering if anyone had good packing strategies. Or maybe I should just carry it on the plane??

I packed a Minnie, Belle, Snow White and Aurora dresses for our trip in January. I laid them flat in the bottom of DD's suitcase. When we arrived I pulled them out and hung them and they sprung back to life in time for Belle to be worn the next day. Not a true strategy, but it worked well. Have a great trip!

I have the Sleeping Beauty Deluxe, I bought one of those "space bags" What makes dd costume fluff is just the (I am so not a sewer) stiff fabric - so I folded it much like the bag it came in, then when we got to the resort I hung it up, I kept the space bag in my tote, and when she got tired of the costume, in the bag it went, rolled it to get the excess air out, and it was good to go - she wore it on and off throughout the week!

I packed them each in a ziplock quart bag and smashed out all the air so they would zip. They pooped up great with no noticeable wrinkles and some even had the ring skirts.

For my girls they wore their regular clothes to the parks and changed into the costumes in the bathroom at the resturant before and after the meals.

My DD2 has been wearing her Cinderella dress from Toys R Us on and off since her birthday in March. It has been know to be in a wad in her closet, hung up nicely or laying on any floor around our house. It still looks great & just needs to hold out two more weeks until 1900 PF dinner (I'll be thrilled if it makes it to Halloween too) I think the material is pretty stiff, so it should be fine however you pack it.

I, too, went the Ziplock route-- folded the dress, put them in the bags, pushed out the air and zipped the bag.

When I bought dresses from the Disney store, I was told that all of the dresses come in bags and are all squished in a box for shipping, but fluff up as soon as they're taken out. After I heard that, I had no hesitation about packing in Ziplock bags. Also, the dresses ordered from Disney Shopping come packed that way too.

This sure saved a lot of room when you're packing Minnie, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, and Snow White gowns!!! And it kept all that GLITTER, or umm, Pixie Dust, off our other clothes in the suitcase.

At the parks, I threw a dress in the bottom of the stroller and didn't have to worry about the dress getting wet during one of the thunderstorms. It kept it nice and dry and clean too.

We had no problems with the dresses at all. All that tulle really puffs up!

Thanks for the responses. I will definitely try out the ziploc bag trick. I have gotten some great ideas on these boards!

Now i have never doon this with a princess dress but with a tutu for ballet and pointe. if it has one of those tule skirts hang it up side down when you take it out and the skirt will poof back up.
