How do you pack salad dressing for kids lunch?

Recently at Target I saw a container that a meant for a situation just like this!

It's a vegetable container with a salad dressing cup built into the lid.
So you take the lid off the veggies - and then you set it on the table - hold it whatever - and then take the dressing lid - OFF of the veggie container lid and there was a dipping compartment.

If I remember correctly it was $7.00 - so you could easily pick a couple of them up to 'cycle' through your DD's lunch bag!

I pointed them out to my DW becuase she has taken fruit and dip in her lunch before - but she already has a 'system' (DW LOVES a good system!! HAHA) and it didn't fit her needs.

But stores like Sam's Club sells very disposable dip/sauce container. But take out places would gladly sell you a sleeve of them. I know places in our area donate them to churches for dinners/fundraisers etc... So I bet they would sell them!

At my grocery store, they have individual cups of salad dressing. They are 1 oz. size and they are 3/$1.00. They are near the bagged salads. They also have individual packets in deli section but those cost a little bit more. Hope you find them.

At Party City and most other party stores they have the disposable containers that you would use for ketchup and mustard at a restaurant and the lids for them. I paid 2.99 for the lids (150 pk) and 3.99 for the cups (100 pk.) Not sure why they don't sell the same amounts in each pack. Anyway, they work great and I've never had a problem with them leaking or anything. I also use them to put peanut butter in for celery or apple dipping.

I'm another vote for the Tupperware Midgits!! No one can beat them! I feel the tops snap on and stay on... when I used a cheaper cup and lid, disposable, I found it to not work as well and it always leaks for me.

Thanks for all the great suggestions...I am looking for completely disposable so she doesn't have to go back to her locker.

I did find restaurant wholesalers on ebay that sell the plastice containder/lid in a 2 oz.size. Before I do that I will definitley check out Party City (thanks Justine Marie for that idea and also peanut butter...could add that to my son's lunch!)

Individual servings would be great...but she wants Cardini's Caeser dressing for dipping and they don't produce in single serving sizes!!

I've gotten lots of "single serve" items at Minimus. I just checked and they have a large assortment of individual (1 oz. or so) pouches of dressing from as low as .21 each.

Wow some great options for adding to my kids lunch and snacks for school, thanks for posting! Putting in an order they will love the individual Nutella's for there Graham cracker sticks!

get some of the snack size zip lock bags and use those. I always put the snack size zip lock bag with the dressing inside of another sandwich size just in case but that disposable and cheap and easy to carry and easy to dip into.

:thumbsup2 This.

I don't do disposable to reduce waste, but I did buy a lock n' lock small round container to put in DD8's lunch box. She puts ketchup, salad dressing and honey mustard in it for various things. Seems to work well for her and easy for her to open.

We use old prescription bottles after sterilizing them. Works just fine for us and they are the right size at no additional cost.
Helps the environment too - saves throwing the bottles out.

I get mine at a local grocer/restaurant supply store. They sell them by the large sleeve and they are very reasonable. Chceck out your local restaurant supplier. Many of them are also grocers as well and you could get some great stuff for home too! Good luck!

My daughter is asking for celery/carrot sticks in her lunch and dressing to dip.
Can't argue with that!
My problem is some days she doesn't use a lunch box (only does if using a thermos for warm lunch)...rather she brown bags it with a disposable lunch to avoid going back to her locker before recess.
Any ideas of where to get containers with lids at a decent price that are disposable???

Try the Dollar Store. You can get 5 small plastic bowls with lids for $1.00.

I purchased a pack of mini containers at a local craft store. Used a coupon for 40% off at AC Moore. I think they came in a package of 8 containers with lids. Ziploc bags would probably be the cheapest option for disposable use in the long run, though not most environmentally friendly.

Is it safe for dressing out of the bottle to sit in a warm locker all am???? I have always kept it cold??? If it has no way to stay cold I would spring for the individual packs that do not need to be kept cold to be sae.

If you have a Smart and Final, or a restaurant supply store near you, the disposable cups with lids (that restaurants use for ketchup, salsa, etc.) would be an ideal solution.

This is what I do, when I bring veggies or salad to work. I bought about 250 small disposable cups (like 2 tablespoon sized) and lids, for about $10. I bought them at "The Party Store" but I have seen them at almost all party supply locations. They last me about a year and I can just toss it when I am done with my dressing.

Don't know where you are located but I love Gordon Food Services. www.gfs.com Only in 8 states though. CA, FL, OH, MI, IN, TN, KY, PA, IL?. They also sell salad dressing packs by the case. Not expensive, 144 packs for around $8.00. I carry them to restaurants who have crappy dressing choices  I hate fat free Italian so....
Also try any liquor/beer or party stores. They sell the little condiment cups with lids in sleeves of 100 for jello shots but they are great for dressngs, mustard, peanut butter, etc.
