How do you make building requests?

I am arriving at my resort (ASMU) next week and would like to request a room in a Jazz building. I remember reading at some point that there is an appropriate time/way of making those requests but I cannot remember what it was. What number do I call? How many days in advance of my arrival should I call? Do I have a very good chance of getting me request?
Thanks!

Someone else will have the number to call.

But I can help a little with the process of making requests. First of all, make your requests as few as possible. The more requests you make, the more likely they are to conflict with each other, essentially cancelling them out. It sounds to me like simply requesting the Jazz building would be very appropriate and probably fairly easy for ASMU to grant.

I'd go ahead and make the request ASAP. It won't put you ahead of people who check in earlier in the day and have the same request, but at least you'll know you've done your part already as far as making the request. They'll just keep the request in their system all the way until check-in date.

Some people have mentioned in the past that you should call again with the same request later and/or fax the same thing to the resort. That's a waste of time. You only need to make the request once, make sure the person you talk to understands it and enters it into the system, and the request will be in the system when you check in.

Keep in mind that these are requests, not guarantees in any way. Rooms are not blocked off from people who check in earlier than you the day you arrive. If people check in before you that day and request, even at check-in, the same building and it fills up, then they won't be able to meet your request. But if the building is still available when you check in, they'd try to put you in that building before any others.

It's best to make any requests when you make your reservation. If this wasn't done, then call as soon as you can and make them then. You would call whomever you called in the first place when you booked your room.
If you made your plans through a travel agent, then that TA is going to have to make the requests for you, on your behalf.
As already posted, keep your requests down to as few as possible. If I were booking a room at Music, this is what my request would look like...Jazz, facing the back, on an upper floor.

We arrived at ASMU on 8/24/07. We got to the resort at about 6:00 PM. I had requested the Jazz section on my original ressie, but was told there was nothing available. We were put in the Broadway section. It was fine, it really wasn't that much further to walk and we were happy with it. The resort is very nice. Everything is fresh and new. Good luck with your request, maybe as others said it depends on what time you check in.

When we booked for this upcoming October we requested Jazz, King size bed! Does anyone know if all the building at ASMu have king rooms?
