:cool1: One of our drivers brought me a flat of the most delicious fresh strawberries today! I sliced up some and we are having them over cake with whipped cream on top. Ummm! How do you like yours?

My favorite way is right out of the field and still warm from the sun.

My dd (5) likes them sliced and on her cheerios.
df-i-l likes them in heavy cream.
dh likes them dipped in melted mild chocolate.
I like them on a frosted sugar cookies.
Take your pick...and enjoy, wish we had some right about now. Ours won't be ready for another 4 months or so.

I wash them and I eat them plain or with sugar.

If I eat them plain (as in w.o sugar) I dip them in yogurt. Yummers :woohoo:

That is what we had too! :thumbsup2

I love strawberries. They are my fav fruit.
I like them in my cereal especially.

In the summer I make a smoothie for the kids with milk, ice cream, strawberries and bananas that I have put in the freezer. They love it!

every way, sliced on cereal, with a sprinkling of sugar, with a pour of cream, on pound cake or angel food cake,
I love when the strawberries start coming in.

dipped in chocolate, on pound or angel food cake, or sliced with some splenda and cool whip on top. :)

the ones we get in the winter aren't as sweet as the summer (local) ones so I usually add a drop or two of real maple syrup. not much, literally just a drop or two. soooo good. in the summer I like them plain, or in milk, or with whipped cream. and chocolate dipped are never wrong!

With a little fruit dip.

Equal parts cream cheese and marshmallow creme or fluff. A little pineapple juice for consistency, and whip.

I thought it sounded gross at first too...but then I tried it.

OH

Whole, just wash them and eat them. :)

Mmmm, growing up we always (my sister and me) ate them in a bowl of milk. No cereal, just strawberries and milk (usually whole or 2%). When you're done with the strawberries you'd have strawberry milk...yummers.

I like them anyway though, and usually make quite a few pints of strawberry jam to keep me going through winter. I wished they would come out with a way to freeze them without making them mushy. But then again the mushy ones are good on plain yellow cake and then top it all with vanilla pudding mixed with cool whip or heavy cream....again YUMMY!

Right out of the field, washed and dipped in sugar...MMMmmmmm. I grew up near Ponchatoula, La and they have some of the best strawberries in the world. At the end of the season, the air is heavy with the scent of strawberry wine. There is a cafe there that makes strawberry beignets that are incredible! :thumbsup2

That is our favorite way. I also like them mixed with cottage cheese or yogurt.

I live about 30 miles from Ponchatoula. Growing up, my Grandpa always grew strawberries and those were the best I ever had. Straight out of the field. Knowing all the hard work that went into them just made them that much more special!!!

You're right about being able to smell them in the air. OK, I have to go get some tomorrow...you all have given me a craving!!! :rotfl:

Did anyone hear of sugar and PEPPER on strawberries? Someone at work mentioned this, and I was like :confused3

Any way I can. I love them. I think I could live on them.

Man do I miss living in California. I pay so much for them now.

Funny you should talk about Ponchatoula - that's where my strawberries came from and boy, are they good!

I like mine dipped in light brown sugar. MMMMMM! If Im in a more of a "i dont care about calories" mood, then I dip them in sour cream and brown sugar. Heaven!
