How do you like Madame Tussaud's?

Trying to narrow down the "stuff" we want to see while in London this summer. I've looked up prices for Tussaud's and it seems quite expensive (w/visit to the Planetarium) + always quite crowded.

Does anyone have any opinions whether good or bad? Although this looks like the only time I'll ever get anywhere near Brad Pitt, but what do you think. Also, how about the area of Baker Street? A travel planning book that I have says if you visit Madame T's that Baker Street is a "must see".

Well I think it's really cool. I went only a couple of years ago and I couldn't believe how much it had changed. I would pay the money to go again for sure. I loved having my piccies taken with all the stars. Some are more life like than others.

I thought there was a ticket you could purchase that would mean you wouldn't have to join the Q. I certainly think getting up early and being there way before opening helps get the best out of the touring of MTussards.

I loved it too - although Shaun didn't think much of it. It's not an all day attraction though...probably half day would be fine.

I liked everything but the ending where they take you some "house of horrors" If I could skip that I would.

Get there EARLY! The lines are longer then Disney LOL!

I went to London several times before I went and don't ever have to go again so if there are things you want to do I would not feel guilty skipping it. (They have a version in Las Vegas you could always go to!)

The whole family enjoyed Tussaud's but thought the Planetarium a waste of time and money. I don't know if you can buy the tickets elsewhere or online, we had annual passes when we went and bypassed the ticket queue.

I think it IS worth a visit The Planetarium is updated now from how it used to be and worth a look too I think.

As others have said,get there early and definitely buy your tickets in advance.

I'm surprised about Baker Street being a 'must do' though As far as I know it is a long street full of shops.Unless there is something about Sherlock Holmes that makes it worth a visit?

I think there is one of the open top bus stops too outside Madame Tussuads if you were thinking of doing the tour (I have done it, that I'd highly reccomend too)

Do they still have the Manson family, complete with smells, in the Chamber of Horrors - that freaked me out when I was about 9!!!

Haven't done it in 20 years. Rather gruesome, if you like that sort of thing. Lots of people losing their heads. As far as Baker Street, other than the Sherlock Holmes Museum, I can't think of anything that any other street doesn't have. IF you are a Holmes devotee, then the museum is a must see, otherwise, I'd pass. Expensive, and if you aren't interested, a bore. If you are, then it's really good and well worth the price.

Thanks so much for your help. I'm trying to figure out our plans for this August and keep finding things to do, but only 7 days to do it in

Hopefully, we'll be able to hit this place also. I'll check out the website again, but in the meantime, does anyone know if I order the tix in advance, can I pick them up from a special ticket counter on the date and not have to wait in the huge lines I keep hearing about?
