How do you know what loop you will be assigned to if your reservations are still months in advance? Can you actually pick a loop in advance? There are so many posts that people have made mention what loop they have made reservations for - is this true, or just wishful thinking?

You can request a loop when you make your reservations. It's not for sure but it may help. When we called to add a day to our trip next week, The CM asked if we wanted to request a loop. I think I may have read on here that you maybe able to call a few days before arriving to see if you have been assigned a loop. Other than that you will not know until you check in.

I personally don't think you can actually pick a "specific" loop. You can request whatever you want within the catergory you booked though. For instance, I booked my trip I just took last weekend way back in December and had made sure my request for loop 800 along with some site suggestions were listed on my reservation and when I checked in at the fort last week I was given the 500 loop. I told the CM we don't like that loop and that we had requested loop 800 at the time of booking cause' we stayed there before and would prefer a site in that area again if it's available. We did get the 800 loop then, but it wasn't pre-assigned to us.

One better- I booked Thanksgiving weekend way back at the beginning of March before their website was upgraded to be able to book what they are now are calling a "premium" site and had requested loop 800. I know loop 800 is going to be a premium site by November thanks to this forum, but do you think as many times as I have called since I orginially booked that reservation that this was mentioned to me or was I even asked if I wanted to pay the new "premium" rate to get my requested loop of 800 for my confirmed reservation- Nope.

I wouldn't hold my breath on anything as Disney does not gtd anything and I presonally always have a written copy of my reservation on me at check-in cause' I don't trust them either.

Hello - I request a loop each time I make a reservation and I have always been give the loop I request. We really like the 800 and 300 loops. Anytime we request a certain loop, they always accomodate us. It is worth a try!!!

Okay... here's the drill....

A) Request your loop when you make your ressie. They are supposed to note request on the ressie, but no guarantees.

B) Three days before checking in call the FtW Front Desk:
Phone is: 407-824-2900;

Have them pull up your ressie in their system (they will not have access to it before then) and ask in your sweetest voice if you could be assigned to loop "whatever". The site assigner works one day out, so if you are checking in tomorrow, they are assigning your site today. The assigner will see your request & try very hard to accommodate it.

On rare occasions when checking in, I have asked if a certain site was available. If it was, the check-in person gave it to me.

Only during busy/peak periods did I not get a loop I requested. Basically, I will take any loop assigned to me without fussing, except 1900.

Thank you so much for the information. I thought I had missed something when we made the reservation. The CM did not even mention requesting a loop - just wanted to know the size of the TT etc. I did tell the reservationist that we were traveling with young kids. Wish I would have found the DIS before making reservations!

You can always call back and have comments added to your reservation.

I think you are much better off requesting the things you like about the site/loop rather than the site/loop itself. For example, if you like the site because it is near a comfort station, then request that, if you like it because it is in the back of the loop and is quieter request that. The problem with asking for a specific site/loop is that the site assigners really don't know why you wanted that site/loop. If your request is not available they really don't know what you might find as a comparable site.

We've always requested the 1600 loop and usually the back side and except for three times out of whatever the number of times we've been in my sign have always gotten the 1600 loop. Also, almost all of our ressies for the last 10 to 15 years have been multiple ressies and we have never had to move once there. This last time we had like 4 ressies covering the period we were then and one was only like for two days and still didn't have to move.
