How do you know what size car?

I am renting a car tomorrow night in LAX. I have a reservation for a midsize car. Question???? How the heck do I know what a midsize car is? I don't want to be put in the next smaller one and have paid for a bigger one, but I don't know what I should be looking for.

So, of course, I came to the DIS board experts! Whenever I have rented before it has been either economy or a minivan and you can't get those mixed up!

Midsize: Alero, Grand Am, Galant. There are probably more, but, I am sure you get the drift. Depends on where you are renting.
Look on the website, they list at least one of what they have.

Hey Gail,
Back from my trip and wanted to say thanks for the list. I did get an Alero, and if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have been sure I was not in a midsize. Seemed small to me, but I drive one minivan or the other at home, so lots of things seem small.

For others who are wondering this, I have noticed that many agencies have a handy chart glued right onto the counter. You can look at it while doing the paperwork, and you'll know for sure that you are getting what you paid for.
