The visual department in the store where I work started hanging the lighted Christmas swags along the aisles and artificial pointsettias adorn the tops of false walls throughout the shopping area.

The Lawn & Garden Center has been switching to the Trim-a-Home department over the past month and a half, setting up displays of trees, ornaments and festive decorations instead of patio furniture, live plants and lawn care items. In a few weeks the sounds of Dolly Parton's "I'll Be Home with Bells On" and Bing Crosbys' "White Christmas" :) will be filling our ears as the satellite-fed music will be replaced with holiday tunes.

Ah, to work in retail....each season comes 6 months early for me. I'm working on placing orders for SPRING 2004 clothing! :yo-yo:

How do I know the holidays are upon me? I have no time. My weekends are full, my weeknights are full, etc. Between work (everyone wants a divorce before year-end), church (Christmas choir concert, drama, volunteer work) and theater (helping with children's show in December), I have hardly any free days. We are driving to St. Loius for Thanksgiving, so I am getting Christmas shopping for my family done early so I can take the presents and not mail them. As much as I love the holidays, I am sooo looking forward to January.

I just ran into Santa(not in his suit) at the mall.
The same man plays Santa every year, and he is a dead ringer for him. Hes from Georgia and stays at an extended stay hotel, near by. My uncle drives a shuttle van for that hotel. As I was walking into the mall this morning I ran into my uncle dropping off Santa, so DS and I got a personal introduction. Ho Ho Ho!

Grandma gets ran over for the first time on the radio,Adam Sandler sings the Turkey song,Charlie Brown Christmas on tv,people being way too perky;) cheap after holiday candy

TBS (or is it TNT?) Well, one of those cable channels runs "A Christmas Story" four times a day. :p That's okay. It's my favorite Christmas movie.

non stop Christmas music
Redneck 12 days of Christmas:)

LOL - I was just listening to Dolly Parton singing "I'll Be Home With Bells On" in my car on the way home from work!

I'm 1/2 way through my shopping and have started wrapping!

The Christmas Season is so short that I wouldn't have time to watch all my Christmas movies or listen to all of my Christmas music if I didn't start write after Halloween!

Harry Connick Jr. was on Oprah promoting his new Christmas Album.

We got to hear Frosty the Snowman! :headache:

The shopping center near me had the holidays banners on the lightpoles up three weeks ago (yes in October)

Santa will arrive this week at some stores.
The mall I would assume would have started decorating, and soon wil lbe a madhouse.

I am about 1/2 way done buying, haven't started wrapping yet.

Christmas isn't upon me. I don't get to stores too often. I really can't wait for the day where Santa is at the mall year round, and the Holiday shopping season begins16 months before the actual holiday......

The malls here has had decorations up for a while now....way before Halloween. Too early, IMO, but I suppose they want to get people in the holiday shopping spirit. ;)

I've actually already bought DS's christmas present...the biggest part of it. :) I'm trying to not go overboard since he'll only be about 6 months and won't understand. I'll let the grandparents spoil him instead. ;) Plus, DH and I know this is the last christmas we'll be able to splurge on gifts for ourselves and my DH is serious about taking advantage of that! LOL!

I know it's Christmas time when DW doesn't ask (at least once a week) "Can we put the tree up?" because it's already up. A sure sign that Veteran's Day is near :p just kidding honey

The huge increase in toy commercials

The Bell Ringers with the red kettles (Salvation Army?) can be found at malls and grocery stores. I try to avoid them, because the sound gives me a headache!
