How do you keep your stroller from being "borrowed"

We will be at MK Saturday and will bring our own stroller. How can we keep it from being "borrowed" LOL!

Thanks,

I read somewhere that a family put a fake poopey diaper in a clear ziplock bag, and hung it off of their handle. It would really take a desperate person to take it with the caca and all!!:rotfl:

We have been to WDW 3 different times w/ a stroller and have never had a problem with anyone "borrowing" it. We usually keep our diapers, wipes, etc....in the bottom.

Usually, we leave our stroller with all the other hundreds of strollers when we go on rides and only take out our cameras/wallets with us and leave everything else in the stroller - even bags from stores with merchandise in them - have never had a problem with anything being taken. This past trip, however, it was really, really cold in Epcot one night and we had a blanket taken from our stroller while we were coming out of the Land - I actually saw the person move our stroller to a spot farther away from the entrance, grab the blanket and walk off before we could catch up to him! However, everything else in the stroller was untouched, including 2 bags of merchandise, diaper bag, refillable mug, etc. This was a bit upsetting, not because the blanket was so important, but because I didn't want something like that to happen at Disney! Oh well, I guess they must have been really cold and couldn't afford their own blanket. I will continue to leave my stroller without worry, as I believe that most people are honest.

Do you have wheels w/ holes? We tied a bandana through the hole to the frame. While it will take some time out of your day and isn't a foolproof system...

1. If your stroller is similar someone will realize they have the wrong one pretty quickly.

2. A person with the intent of stealing will probably not want to bother and move on to an easy target.

But I agree w/ PP, this would be for your peace of mind, I don't think it is a major issue in the parks. I did it b/c I accidentally started to take someone's stroller and wondered how often it could happen to me! And, this was 14 years ago too :lmao: Now I feel old.

This is something I have done for all of our family luggage and stroller. I bought some really ugly, colorful poly/cotton fabric (of course it was cheap, so that was nice!). Decided upon a length, cut it up into strips, braided 3 strips together and tied the ends into knots. I then used these to tie onto luggage and stroller, and made a few extras just in case. That way I can spot my stroller w/ the ugly fabric tie on it, and nobody else should mistake it for theirs. It is also very helpful at the airport w/ all of our luggage sitting there, w/ matching ugly ties. HTH!

It's like the old funny quote you see in some stores, "In God We Trust, all others pay cash." I'd love to trust others, but there's always a chance they will fail. Like I said in another thread, I hope the worry if for naught. :thumbsup2

We take a bike lock with us and thread it through one of the wheels. That way it can still be moved by a CM if need be but noone would actually be able tp push it round the park.

honestly.. we don't worry about it.. there are usually many, many strollers at any "designated stroller parking" place and when we leave ours, we take out the things that are easily swiped from the basket (camera bag, purse, wallet, etc) and then just walk away.

now.. we have a LOT of stuff in our stroller.. several hundred dollars worth probably (we actually got a certificate for "most prepared for a two week safari" left on our stroller by a CM once.. guess that means we won the prize for the most loaded stroller!!! LOL!)... but you know what? If you can afford to get into Disney, then I think you can probably afford your own diaper bag, back pack, wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. etc. etc..

And besides.. if they need to steal AT DISNEY.. then heck, I figure, they must really need it more than me.. and karma will eventually level it all out.

I'm there to vacation, not stress... so, I make a point to be smart (grab my wallet and camera) and leave the rest to the Mouse and Karma!

This is exactly how I feel. That is so funny about the certificate! I'm surprised we haven't gotten one yet. Our stroller is also always filled with tons of stuff. It takes us so long to get through bag check! I like the ideas of tying on a distinguishing ribbon, because most times your stroller is not in the same spot that you left it and you do have to go searching for it.
