How do you keep shoes dry on rides

Our neighbors just got back yesterday from a week at WDW. Their greatest complaint was that their shoes got wet on a number of rides and they couldn't get them dried out. They finally bought crocs and then got blisters. How does everyone handle this. Do you wear water shoes, takes shoes off and put in zip lock while you ride????? We are going in July and I don't want anything to spoil our trip.

We wear crocs - and have never had blisters - maybe they bought them a size too small?

Other options are to bring carrier bags to put your feet into.

Some people stash their shoes in the centre of the raft if on Kali - but Disney don't like you going bare footed as its a hazard - and sometimes water gets in there any way!

If you must wear sneakers then bring a spare pair of socks to be more comfortable. When you get back to the hotel stuff your shoes with kitchen roll so they will dry out faster - or if you have a dryer throw them in there.

Personally when we ride wet rides we go to the park with that intention - we wear crocs / flip flops and ride the attractions over until we're drenched - then we go back to our room and change!

I agree with the above post.

Wear clothes you are prepared to get soaked in - do them all at the same time, then get changed afterwards into something else. If you don't want to go back to your hotel/villa then take a change of clothes and leave them in a locker.

Maybe your friends could carry flip flops to wear on the water rides and put their other shoes into a bag to carryon?

What I've done in the past is carry a pair of flip flops in a big Ziploc bag. When I was ready to go on a water ride (or just splash around in a pop-jet fountain), I'd switch out my shoes and socks for the flip flops before getting in the line. When I was done riding, I'd switch out the flip flops for a nice dry pair of socks and comfy sneakers. I have friends that will only wear flip flops in theme parks, but I find them very uncomfortable and can only tolerate them for short periods of time before I take them off and start walking around barefoot...

The main thing you would need to worry about is that your shoes are the right size. My orthopedic doc has always told me to buy "vacation" shoes a half-size bigger than my normal shoe size. This allows room for your feet to swell (and they will) and reduces the risk of blisters. Also, make sure your shoes are well broken before attempting to walk around WDW all day. There's nothing worse than trying to break in new shoes at WDW - DH tried it on our last trip to Universal Studios and was MISERABLE.

I now have several pairs of Crocs, and these are the best park shoes EVER! I highly recommend them ::yes:: . If you get a pair, just make sure that there's plenty of wiggle room, because your feet will swell and can cause blisters...

Hope this helps!
