How do you hold your blaster in Astro Blasters?

I find that I can't consistently hit targets because when I pull the trigger, my blaster wobbles a bit. Sometimes, I can try for the entire room and can't hit Zurg's chest (never hit his chest in the last room). Anyone have tips on how to hold the blaster and aim properly?

Also, how often do you turn the vehicle? I find that I can't turn it and shoot consistently and think it may just be easier to turn myself as much as possible despite the short wire.

I'm hoping to get from 200K+ to over a million consistently.

I’m right-handed so I hold the blaster with my right hand and steady it with my left. I rarely don’t break 1M. And I usually hit the final Zurg at least four times. Here’s a pic of yesterday’s scoreboard. I’m “Rob.”B21596E0-A747-41C5-AE29-9552D13B1370.jpeg

Is there anywhere with a good walkthrough of how to get high scores at either Astro Blasters or TSMM? My husband is super competitive at those types of games to I'd love to smoke him.

These are my standard Buzz tips:

· Only ever shoot diamonds (5,000 points) and triangles (10,000 points – 50,000 when lit). Shoot squares only when lit (5000 points). As I explained to a family in line behind me yesterday, shooting one triangle is the scoring equivalent to shooting 100 circles. Don’t waste time on circles.

· Shoot targets multiple times, not just once. I often leave the first room with 250,000 – 300,000 points.

· If you have trouble hitting targets, take a moment to shoot at a blank wall to determine if your gun is shooting high, low or to one side. Often times that’s the key. Not all guns are created equal ;-).

· Make note of where the triangle targets are and go for them as often as possible. For example, in the second to last room (where the second Zurg is), there’s one behind you as you near the exit. You have to shoot the circle beneath it to make it pop up. That alone -- hitting it ten times -- can earn players at least 100,000 points.

· This won’t be an issue for most players, but be aware that if you exceed approximately 2,096,000, your score will reset and you’ll lose everything. This happens to me regularly and it’s very frustrating. The challenge is that once you exceed 1M points, the cruiser will only display 999999. You’ll need to keep track (or try to) in your head. This has been an issue for the past two years or so. I’ve raised it with Disney many times but I think it unlikely that they’ll ever fix it. They tell me that the game is designed to do that; it's not a bug. It was never meant to allow players to exceed that score. The way it performs now is the way it was always intended to.

· On a related note, scores above 1M will only display at the photo kiosks at the ride exit. Lately there have been problems with scores flowing through with pictures. I’ve also raised this issue with Disney and hopefully it will be corrected.

Do you put your left hand around your right hand and shoot with your right index finger? Or are you steadying the blaster by putting your hand closer to the front or something?

I think I can't keep it steady or can't aim because when there's lots of people shooting, I'm confusing my red dot with other people's red dot.

As you can (sort of) see in this pic, I hold the gun with my right hand and fire with my right index finer. My left hand goes under the body of the gun to steady it and to help make it easier to move quickly and zero targets.

That used to happen to me too. In my case, the more I played, the easier it got. If it helps, when you reach a part of the ride where there are few targets, fire at a empty wall to get an idea of how accurate your gun is. Does the dot appear exactly where it's pointed or slightly off in some way?
