How do you handle Christmas presents if your going to be in WDW Christmas day?

I'm really not sure how I am going to deal with Christmas presents while in WDW. I want Santa to bring something special on the day of Christmas but what about the big gifts? I know that I don't want to ship them down and lug them home. I'm not organized enough for that. We will be there from the 19th until after the New Year.

ETA: My kids are elementary aged and are still big believers!

Should we do it before we leave and say Santa came early? What have others done? Can't wait to hear because I'm really not sure what to do.

Also, what about a tree?

I think it depends on the age of the children. For my kids the trip to WDW would be the main gift and then I would take only 1 small "Santa" gift for Christmas morning. Plus some souvenir shopping at WDW.

how long are you going to be at wdw? maybe right before you leave your house have the kids in the car and act like you forgot something in your house set out gifts, and give them like a little stocking stuffer size gift from santa on christmas and have a note saying they have something else waiting for them at home, that way they have a bigger present at home without lugging it around and they wont feel forgotten. its just an idea...

I was wondering the same thing I have one believer and a nonbeliever. So we will have "Santa" bringing some special gifts on Christmas day, but the big present will be when i wake them up pretty early to head to WDW on Dec. 18 or 19 but of 2007. SO i have 1 year to plan out all of the details of that Christmas.
So my ideas were a t-shirt/sweatshirt, pins, disney dollars, take them down to the World of Disney and see if there is something that they really really want. But pack and empty suitcase for the extras. Just in case "Santa" gets a little carried away while shopping

I was going to wait until we got home to open gifts from santa, but santa is bringing some very nice gifts to occupy them for the trip to disney.

SOOOO, we suggested that they write a letter to santa and ask if he could make a trip for the weekend before christmas. They told santa that this way he could save time on christmas eve and maybe ship other kids gifts that are not going to be home for christmas at the same time.

I think that jolly old man might like this suggestion!!!!1

I would leave them at home. Have the last adult leaving the house, but the kids are alread in the car or have another adult put the presents under the tree after you leave. At WDW Santa can leave the stockings with small items and a note to say the rest are at home. OR Have Santa come the night or two before and again leave a note that he came early since he knew they would be at WDW.

Hey that is not a bad idea, since the trip is a suprise for my kids, i could have "santa" deliver the tickets and other trip related items the night before we leave. or get one of the nice guys i work with to dress up as santa and wake them up to get ready for the suprise trip, hmm.....
