We are leaving in 4 Days!!!!!! I am so excited.....but i am like a kid at christmas beofr we leave for disney. How do you get to sleep the night befor you leave???
I get up WAY early the day before so that by evening I am ready to sleep. I still only get maybe 4 hours or so, but I try. It would be harder if I had to drive to the airport, but DH takes care of that.
I am usually packing, checking, writing notes, etc that by the time I collapse it is so late I have about 1 1/2 hrs so I have no problem catching a nap! Especially since the day has usually included a ton of runningaround, laundry, yard care, delivering animals all over, dealing with excited kids, husband, that I'm exhausted.
yea, no sleep here either. We're leaving in 3 days and I haven't packed a thing b/c it's a surprise for my kids -- I don't wanna get caught! I was planning on packing Friday AM while they were all at school but now the weather is calling for snow and I think school will be cancelled, at least preschool. I'll be up all night packing, double checking everything and repacking!
I nver sleep the night before! I am alwyas doing all the last minute packing and making sure we have everything. If I am lucky I get to lay on the couch for an hour before I have to getup and take a shower. We don't need no stinkin' sleep! We're going to Disney!!!
NO caffine all day the day before, ok maybe one coffee in the AM to keep from a caffine w/draw head ache... then i will try to lay down if i'm still up 1 hour later, i'll get up and take a simply sleep, but usally i'm up all night doing stuff, while dh sleeps he drives about 90% on the drive down so i usally get 1-2 naps durring the drive.
We stay at a hotel by the airport the night before. It lets us sleep a little later in the morning but it really helps that I am not getting up every 10 minutes as I am falling asleep to add something to the luggage. I have what I have at that point. I sleep a little better knowing that my vacation has already started. I still been know to announce to the room at 3 am that "I am too excited to sleep". I only do this when I hear others in the room stirring.
I'm always so busy the day before doing all the last minute things that I'm completely worn out by the time bedtime gets here. I get myself so wound up the week before we leave that I have more trouble sleeping a week out than the night before. By the time the night before gets here, I'm a walking half zombie, half crazy person
Too excited to sleep.
Check the list, pack, think, check the list, think about it again, repack...
and it goes on.
Then too worried about not waking up in time for the flight...
so you never really sleep.
We we just talking about that this evening and I suggested we
take evening flights instead of the early morning flights.
