We always drive. We are only 9 - 10 hrs away and I can't justify spending that money to fly to Orlando. I look at it this way, 2 hrs to Atlanta, pay for parking, 2 hrs in the airport, 1 hr flight, 1.5 hrs from touchdown to resort. That only leaves a difference of 3.5hrs of driving vs. flying.

How do I get to WDW from Tallahassee? By car, like this ...

I-10 east (90 miles); to I-75 south (110 miles); to the Florida Turnpike south (20 miles); to US 27 south (25 miles); to US 192 east (8 miles); to WDW's World Drive.

I usually take a twenty minute break on the turnpike at Omphalukaha, or whatever that rest area is called, for gas and leg stretching.

Total time: about five hours, depending especially on the traffic on US 192. (192 was really backed up this past March when I last drove to WDW.) I will take almost any route that lets me avoid driving on I-4.

Enjoy.

Usually by plane, then rent a car. I am excited this summer because we are going to use the magical express and stay at POP. Usually we stay at a condo or rent a house.

I do not see train listed. We are going from Raleigh, NC to Orlando in September by train and limo to WDW. I love to participate in polls, however all transportation choices need to be available.

Also, for those that take the Auto train where do they cast their vote?

:sad2: :guilty:

When DH and I started going to WDW, we would drive. 21 hours~~ :drive: :faint: This went on for almost 30 years and 20 some trips!!! Then in 2003, my DD and DGDs and I decided to go in March. My DH was teaching and could not take time off to drive us. So we flew!!! It was the first time for all of us. When we got back, we decided that it was the only way to go! Love the idea of getting there in about 5 hours instead of the 21 hour delay!!!! So from now on we are flying!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Fly first class for about 8-9 hours(there's no way I'm flying coach for that long! ) and then Magical Express. :)

I go to work and save lots of $ ... make resv., do lots of planning, make adr's all the fun stuff, find lots of good info here on the DIS... oh...then get in our car and drive the 17 hrs. to WDW :thumbsup2

repeat, repeat again, and repeat again as often as POSSIBLE

We drive 18 hours each way. We drive to the park each day.

Airfare is much more advantageous to travel than other means of transportation.

Fly down, unfourtanly no direct flight. Than Tiffany Towncar to the Resort.

We leave South Jersey and drive to Lorton, Virginia (about a 3 hours drive)then hop on the auto train and arrive in Sanford, Florida and drive on over to WDW.

The Auto Train is pretty cool and my family hates flying. It takes about 16 hours on the Auto Train and you get to meet some interesting people. We actually like it alot.

so the question is:

how do you go to disney world
bus
magical express
plane
car
taxi

coming in late and I am sure this has been discussed but logically these choices do not make sense. How do you take a plane to WDW as in Magic Kingdom/Epcot/AK/MGM and get to parking lot? If plane was out it might make more sense. Or maybe its not the parking lot but Orlando in general so then how do you take ME to Orlando Int Airport from New York? I could take a car to airport then plane to MCO then ME to Disney Hotel then bus to park. etc etc etc. Still trying to get taxi worked in.

Our option was not listed, we use Amtrak from northeastern Ohio to Kissimmee Florida. Quit driving to Florida years ago, too hectic, too many trucks and don't care for the traffic in the big cities. We also never use our car when in Disney, letting the bus transportation haul us around, still just use the buses. Have flown about 3 times, wife likes it, I don't. I won't fly anymore, to nerve racking for me. The train takes us around 27 hours, if on time, and we relax, take a lunch, some drinks and sit back, its part of our vacation now.
