How do you give you baby a bath when you have a 1-br with only a jacuzzi?

I was just curious. We are going to stay at a 1-br at BWV in May, and I am not sure how other people use the jacuzzi to give babies a bath. I tried it last time, but it was kind of deep and hard to manuver. We had a 2-br last time so I just used the tub in the studio.

It is no big deal, but I was just wondering how others do it. Do you just get in there with the baby? Mine was actually kind of scared to be sitting in that one.

Thanks for any tips.

With a tub that big, i got in there with my little ones.
Made it kind of a game.

I have used it since my kids were able to sit up. I just give them lots of toys and they love to play in it. It is their little pool. It is difficult to bend over and wash them though. Once they were able to stand up, I would have them do that to wash them. Unfortunately, mine soon learned just how big the tub is and they sit down and scoot out of reach so that it is hard to get them! :p

When my DD was a baby we gave her a bath in the sink whenever we were at a hotel. It was very easy and worked until she was about 9 months.

Besides also using the sink, I bought an inflatable bath tub for my baby.
I think I got it at Babies R Us or Target. Its just a small inflatable tub ring type of thing in a small box( I know, another thing to bring!) and it fits in the jacuzzi tub giving the baby support to lay back while being cleaned. Hope this helps.

How about the kitchen sink(depending on the size of the baby)? If you clean it out well before you put the baby in it, and put a towel or something in it for the baby to lie on, I think it might work well. Plus, doesn't the kitchen sink have a sprayer??? Then you could give baby a little shower too!:D

Thanks for the tips.

I should have made it clearer. My younger one is 20 months old. Not really a baby baby. I guess I will just get in there with her, and put her older sister in also.

:D

We have a whirlpool tub at home and what I do and have done with my baby since she was about 13months (she's 2 now) is fill up the tub to the right level and then I just sit on the side with my feet in the water. I scoot her over to me and that allows me to wash her hair and then I have her stand up to wash the rest of her body. It works great for us and she loves the big tub .... it's her own personalized swimming pool.

My then 25 month old love getting in the jacuzzi with her big sister (5.5 years at the time) they would ask for bath all the time. :-) So the two of them would play in there for almost an hour.

At 22 months, I just put my dd in there....with her big brother. Of course, she just had to hop in with me as well.

It is a big tub...and watch out if you put in bubbles! The way the water comes out you can end up with more bubbles than water!

I often take my boys into the shower (one is 18 months old). I wash and play with them and can hold them up to the shower to clean off their hair....this way you're less likely to end up with water all over....With two adults...one wash, one dry works well...

I would not use the Jacuzzi unless you are going in with the baby, we used it for our 18mts twins with 3 adults present, and one baby slipped on the slope, and went under, It was very scary, for the rest of the trip we used the sink. which is plenty big enough for a child that age.

We have the same tub here ( we liked it so much we bought one, but, it is a bit larger), when I wash the dog I fill it almost to the seat and sit on the seat. Nice feature that seat!!!! I am speaking about OKW here, not sure about the other resorts.

My youngest was 13 months old when she first was bathed in that jacuzzi tub with her big sister. She loved it I stayed right there by the tub and she had no problems.

She'll love if you take a bath with her in the "big" tub! Our 2yo DD loves coming into our jacuzzi tub with mommy.

That tub at OKW was like a water park for her!! :)

My DGD thinks of the jacuzzi as another attraction. She calls it the big girl tub. My DDIL went in with her when she was a 2yo.

We have been the last two years with our youngest. She was only 13 months on the first trip and just went in with her elder sister. Mind you I didn't give her a bath my DH did that every night and he didn't have any problems. Last year she was just 2 and loved it when the bubbles went on! I don't think you will have any problems. Have fun! :D

In Nov '02, when DS was 15 months old, he and older DS jumped into the tub for a swim (with Mom or Dad looking on of course!)

It was even the first time he had a shower. He was exploring and opened the shower door when Dad was in there and joined him. So he got stripped down and soaped up and came out squeeky clean!

That makes for quite a Disney memory! ;)
