How do you get Towel Animals at the resorts?

We've been to WDW multiple times and are returning for the 3rd time in a year in August. My kids are always jealous because we never seem to get the towel animals that mousekeeping make. What do people do to get them? We always leave a pretty decent tip each day so I don't think that's the problem. Any ideas?

Sometimes I think it's just a matter of luck and/or depends upon who your Mousekeeper is (but I could be wrong). . .when we went in May, we tipped $1 per person per day in our rooms at both the Pop and the Polynesian and left said tip inside a Disney-themed envelope that said 'Thank You Mousekeeping.' We received only one towel animal at the Pop, which was already in our room when we first arrived and none afterward. However, we had a towel animal every single day of our stay at the Polynesian and they were very elaborate!

We had them every day, including when we first checked into our room. We left a $10/day tip. We won't sure how much to leave. The mousekeepers always left us nice thank you notes, and tons of soap and shampoo. We're still using the soap! I'll still probably tip that much this time too. My stepmom and her mother are housekeepers, and they don't get paid that much for what they have to do. Just a personal thing of mine!

It all depends on who your Mousekeeper is!
Nothing you can do.:sad2:

One year we got nutin, and the next year we got 10!

:confused3

it's luck, not tips. but you can make requests.

It has nothing to do with tipping. Depends on whether your housekeeper has time to do it.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see then! We stayed at POP last time and every room we would pass had the coolest towel animals on their window sills. Then we got to our room and nothing. We left $25 tip each day and never got anything extra- no thank you's, no towel animals, no extra soap/shampoo. We're staying at POR this time around and hopefully we'll get something! The kids have been waiting years for the towel animals (we've been multiple times and never gotten any).

we just got back from a 12 night split stay between pop and fw. the first night at pop we had one waiting on the bed. and that was it at pop.
at FW we had one or two about every other day.
the cutest was a mickey shaped head and next to it the word hi
we decorated our windows pretty heavily with stuffed mickeys - not sure if that helped, I think it's more who have that day - luck :rotfl:

$25 tip!! When are you going? I'll come clean your room and make you towel animals!;)

I agree with the others. I feel strongly it is just luck and the skill of that particular Mousekeeper. I don't think there is anything at all that you can do.

We stayed at cr (tower room) and never got an animal. I was disappointed since this was our first trip with our daughter and granddaughter. You think for what we paid per night (although that shouldn't matter) we would get a towel animal. Guess it's just luck. Maybe next time. :yay:

It's definately something you can't go "expecting" to receive. You have to just be excited to get one when it happens!

It's mainly luck. When DD and I stayed at the Poly we got one towel animal (a swan) in our room during our whole vist. We just happened to be in the GCH when a mousekeeper was doing towel animals and told my daughter she could pick whatever one she wanted (she got a bunny with a lei around it's ears). We didn't tip until the end of that visit.

Now at Pop I tipped every day and we only got one little towel puppy in the window (very cute!). We never do really expect towel animals so we were happy with that one. Now over at POFQ we tipped every day and we got four GORGEOUS towel animals (two swans, and two peacocks). It just depends on what you get.

Towel animals are an extra special treat, not a guarantee. :thumbsup2
