How do you get to MGM or AK from the Polynesian?

When we go to WDW next summer we are going to try the transportaion aka buses out for the first time. How do you get to MGM or AK from the Polynesian? Does it take a long time? Are there other stops before going to these parks? Luckily I don't have to worry about the MK or Epcot since they are on the monorail line

Direct bus which stops at the GF prior to going to MGM. Same for the AK bus.

We stayed at the Polynesian in June. They share buses with the GF & WL for MGM, AK & DTD. The buses were very full, almost always with riders standing. The trip to AK took about 15 minutes from the last pick-up to the park. Never had a very long wait for the bus leaving the Polynesian. However, the buses returning from the parks and DTD were very slow coming. We waited over 1 hour and 45 minutes in a pouring rainstorm to leave DTD. Also waited over 45 minutes at AK. Weigh this against the ease of getting to MK & Epcot via monorail - that's great!
