How do you get the gem?

I have the diver suit magic and finally with a ton of lag was able to get into the tank, and I notice a clam pops up periodically. Am I supposed to go to it to get the "gem," because the game is way too slow. My character doesn't even start moving unitl after the clam has already disappeared. So how does one complete this part of the quest? You can white out the answer if you know how, or ppl who don't want to know can choose not to read further.

The gem is inside the ship at the shipwreck.It is a dark purple.

Heynopushing! Please highlight below for your answer..
It just means that you have to take a look at the items in the Grotto. Lumiere is one of the items, so go to Small World Imports, click on the cash register and purchase Lumiere. Task complete.

I did find that purple gem, thanks, but now I can't earn 500 credits for one of the stages. People said to sell and Everest chair but it only goes for 200 now!!!!!!!

And I made over 500 in Fireworks, but that was split into two 300+ credits for 5th level + getting over 200,000 points. If they want us to get 500 at one time and have lowered the value of the Everest chair (evil!), I really don't know what we are supposed to do, do you?

Wait, you can only get the credits for selling items? Playing the games doesn't count, and you have to somehow get that many credits all at once? I don't usually get that much from HM per game. I don't get it ... why would I want to resale my items at 20% of value?

Has someone done this task another way, with success?
