I tried to do a repair and got superglue on my fingers. They're not stuck together, but it's on my fingertips.

Anyone remember how to get this stuff off?

Make sure the nail polish remover is acetone based. The other kind will not work.

my DD was doing a craft last week and I tried to "save" the snowman's hat from sliding off...got superglue on two of my fingers, thankfully not too much. nailpolish did NOT work (never thought to check about acetone base though). I contemplated paint thinner but decided to wait and see. Within 2 days it had come off.

Well, I have to admit to sticking my fingers to the steering wheel once. :rotfl2: I was sitting in the driveway trying to fix something. I fixed it, and myself too! Thank goodness for cell phones and friends that don't mind running to a beauty supply store for acetone! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I definitely recommend acetone....

Oh, I soooo feel your pain!!! I have glued many things together...:rolleyes1

My fingers countless times
My eye lid
a finger to the keyboard
a finger to my chin.....

shall I go on?? HA!!! I usually use acetone (like the others said) but depending on how much glue was used, it might take a bit. Just dont get it in your eye!!!!!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Okay I gotta ask.. how did you glue your eye lid :confused3 :rotfl:

When my DD was about 3 years old, she got into some superglue and glued her fingers and hands together. I actually called the poison control center and they said to put a lot of vaseline on them & rub it in a lot!

Welll....it's actually pretty easy to do :rotfl:
I had a split nail and I didn't want to cut it off becasue it messes up the "look," so I just put a little dab of glue on my fingernail. Nail glue is hard to feel and it takes a littel bit for it to dry when its a thick drop. I forgot I had used it and I scratched my eye becasue it was itching. Some of the glue got on my eyelashes and my eyelid and then when I ralized what had happend I squnited my eye closed so it wouldn't go in my eye and well....then it was glued shut. :rotfl2:

See? It actually makes perfectly good sence. HA!!!!:rotfl:

I just bought some superglue Sunday to fix something and I read the directions on the back. It said if you got it on your skin to rub oil on them and it will come off. I did get a little bit on my finger but didn't bother and it was already off of my finger by yesterday.

Acetone. You can buy it as "Nail Polish Remover" at the drug store or as "acetone" at the hardware store.

The "Nail Polish Remover" costs about 15 times more than the "acetone." You make the call!

:)

Hi, my name is theGoofster, and I'm Super Glue Inept.

If they ever start a Super Glue Anonymous I will become one of the charter members. I swear, I can't even get withing 5 feet of the stuff without it getting all over me. Normally I'm a pretty coordinated kind of guy, but you get me near some Super Glue, and I become like Super Man around Kryptonite.

So, having had more than my fair share of sticky encounters, I'll second (or third or fourth or whatever) the nail polish remover suggestion. Apparently my wife must use the kind that has Acetone, because it always seems to work really well.
