When you book your PSs, do you do it randomly, as you plan your trip, all at once, whats your strategy?

Our last 2 trips were a little of both, but I did have several days i knew I wanted to work around. This time I feel like my calendar is a little more open. I would love to hear how others do this. My system worked well enough, but I am open to learning a better way.

I plan my PS's around my park days--which was a lot easier (even at 90 days out) until this year. I had a pretty good idea about which park I wanted to visit on which day but with the new EMH program I don't know what to expect. We like to try at least 1 or 2 new places each visit and we always have to eat at least one meal at CP.

We let everyone in our family pick a couple of restaurants, and then plug them in depending on our park schedule. The only exception, is CRT. Whatever day we get that PS, dictates our MK morning.

It was a bit more difficult this year, only because the hours were not posted, when our 90-day window, was available. Also the EMHs do not seem to staying on the same days. Most of my PS are made, for our April trip, just to be sure we can get in, but we will prob. end up changing times, or restaurants, once we are there.

Our dinner PS are what most of our WDW trips revolve around these days.
We make our PS as far out as we can, then plug in our other activities accordingly.
Easy to do when you've been to WDW 28times!!!!

looks like we all do the same thing... figure a rough sketch of what days where (based on emh's and crts and such) and then fill in our ps meals... last trip we only made a few ps's (crt, h&v, hddr, donalds, boma for adults/simbas for kids [which got cancelled due to hurricane]) in advance and then fill in around that...

i definitely don't plan our itinerary all at once, it's usually a work in progress up 'til the day before we leave, and even then, it's subject to change!

I'm a list person. I start with a list of all the restaurants we love and must repeat then I add in a couple that we'd like to try and lastly add a few more to the "if there's time and space" in our itinerary. Next I figure out an estimated itinerary of the parks and which days we'll be at each and then match up the restaurants to the parks by location. If there are 3 in Epcot we like but didn't plan to be there 3 days, we might try one for lunch rather than dinner for example. Typically I have the entire schedule w/restaurants made into an Excel chart well before the 90 days out mark. For our Christmas trip I called for each PS on the 90th day exactly. For summer trips I usually wait until my last PS date is 90 days out and then make all of them in one call.

DH and I decide on what places we want to go back too. Then we check out the menus of places we want to try. I also read up here on the boards for recommendations. So far this year we want to go back to Chef Mickey's and try dinner there, Le Cellier on recommendation, and maybe Cindy's again for lunch...MY fav place!

We plan our PS around what park we are going to be at each day. We like to have one PS per day.
