How do you get on a list to receive pins?

Well, I don't know about the list, but I'll tell you what I did. We are booked for the week after Thanksgiving for a 5 night stay, when I made the reservation I asked about PIN codes and discounts, the CM just told me to keep watch on the site... So I looked around the board for help and found some suggestions..

I went to the main page of the Disney World website and ordered the "Planning DVD" (apparently this gets you into some system). Then I logged into my account on the Disney World site and ordered the "Custom Maps" after that I would just spend about 10-15 minutes on the site every night planning and saving packages. I did this for about a week, and then one night after getting back from eating I had an email from Disney with a PIN Code inside. I called and gave it to the CM, it was applied to my account right away. The code we received was for a discount on the rooms.

35% off Deluxe, 30% off Moderate and 25% off Value.

I am going to try this tonight! Question, since I have never gotten a PIN, is it only off a package or can you book a room only? Also, if I did get a PIN soon, would it be good for next Feb? I am looking to book 2.10 to 2.13 before a cruise.

I am pretty sure the PIN can be used for a room alone, though most PIN's require a 5 night stay.

Also, if I did get a PIN soon, would it be good for next Feb?

Well, when you receive a PIN it has active dates sent along with it. When I asked the CM about a PIN for us when we booked a few weeks ago she said something to the affect of "Oh, that date is too far away to know what specials will be going on then, just check the site...". When we did get our PIN it was for the dates we needed, so I'm sure anything they send you will be catered toward your trip.

I have done every single thing ever reccommended on this board to get a pin and I have NEVER gotten one. It's so frustrating when I hear friends who don't even like Disney geting postcards with great discounts and we get ZIP. We are booked ar RACK RATE for Aug, and since we'll never get a pin, I really hope a good public or DV discount comes out.
