how do you get a postcard?

I was reading a thread about people getting postcards offering really good deals? What is this all about? We have a trip planned for March 2003 and we booked it and then a couple weeks later got a disney vacation club package and a call asking us if we would be interested. This is our 3rd trip so maybe they thought it would be of interest to us. But, I would really like to get the postcard by the sounds of it. Can anyone explain them to me? Thnaks you!!!

AAHH. If we knew that then the elusive postcard wouldn't be so exciting.
It seems to be random, but the more you sign up with Disney programs the more luck you may have.
There is the Disney credit card, the Disney Club, the online sign up. The list goes on. You may never get one, or you may get one every 6 months. Who knows
There is no way to request one.

It's confusing! I just got a postcard, first that I'm aware of, and it was addressed to me in my maiden name. (2+ years ago). I have no idea why I got this. Unfortunately, I can't use it because I'm not traveling in December. (I have traveled to Disney - last year - but it was in my current, married name...not my maiden name.)

We received a post card offer not long ago. It came to my DH. I think we got on the
"card" mailing list by requesting a Disney Trip planning video over a year ago. Although
the card didn't apply to the time we are going (Jan. 2003), I'm hopeful we will get another
offer before our trip with a better offer than our booking. Or maybe the codes for January
will FINALLY come out!

I don't know how they decide who gets the postcards but my brother-in-law, who only visited one time and has never been online or signed up for anything, gets about 2 a year. My sister and I who have been many times never received one until this year when I got one. Used it to book at the AKL for $129.oo a night.

Here's how to get a postcard: resolve that you won't be visiting Disney at all for a year or two, make sure you have no extra disposable income so that you can't change your mind. If no Disney vacation is possibly in the cards, you will surely get bombarded with Disney postcards, offering tantalizing discounts you can't possibly take advantage of.

I got about three postcards last year when we were strapped for cash and not planning a trip, but I'm sure next year, when I am planning my late fall 2003 trip, the postcards will all go into hiding.

LOL, Jen D! That sounds like the way I have received past postcards- when there was absolutely no way that I could possibly make the trip.

I have never gotten a card. However My uncle keeps getting them and only has only gone to Disney a couple of times. Now here's the puzzler. They are addressed to us. We live in Illinois, He did (deceased) live in Michigan.

I'd like to know how to get his name off of there list. This may be why we never have gotten one.

Three weeks ago I booked my first trip in over 10 years. I too heard about these postcards but never received one.

Well, guese what? A few days ago I got a postcard in the mail. I already booked POR for $85.00 a night, but decided to give it a try anyway.

I am in the Coronado (where I wanted to be in the first place) for $79.00 a night.

I guess I just got lucky.

Jen D - you are so right. There is no way we will be going to Disney this year and probably not next year either, even though I am working on it. I have received 3 postcards. The latest was this week - AKL for $109.00/night. Ugh! Oh well, DD thought the postcard was to her from Mickey
