How do you feed assisted sitter infant at disney?

My 6 month old just started solids. We are going to disney very soon, and he is not yet sitting unassisted. He can't sit in a typical restaurant high chair. What do you put your assisted sitter in to feed them solids in restaurants or your hotel room? I know that some restaurants have high chairs younger babies can use, but I'm not sure if any we are going to do. Thanks!

When my kids were that age, we used a Snazzy Baby seat--it is a soft material seat with straps that reach around the back of a regular chair, essentially tethering the baby's torso to the chair but leaves the arms free. Amazon has it for $35. It's nice and compact--folds into its own pouch for travel.

Can he sit in a high chair if you put rolled up blankets around him?

Thanks for the responses. He sits in his high chair at home in the completely straight up position (it is a three level reclining one that can be used at birth on). He has never tried a high chair with no back - I'm not sure if he could with a towel. I can't imagine trying to feed him baby food in my lap would go well - it is messy enough when he is in his chair and I'm sitting in front of him (and can see what I'm doing lol). That thing u attach to the seat looked interesting, I'm going to look into it

Someone else hold him on their lap while you feed him? I agree that it would be difficult to feed him while you are holding him. We have also had luck with wrapping towels, blankets, or coats around a baby in a high chair at that age. Or feeding him in his stroller.

Great idea about the stroller! Hubby suggested the car seat (we have a click n go system, and it did not go well when we tried lo just in the stroller not in the car seat in the stroller the other day). I thought he would be reclining too much in the car seat to swallow? I know we would most likely not be able to bring the stroller into restaurants, but that should work in the hotel room. I'll probably work our room breaks when he needs to eat. If the stroller doesn't work, we'll probably do one of us holding him while the other feeds

Remember that at 6mo old. solids are just icing on the cake so to speak and he is just learning how to eat. He gets everything he needs right now from breast milk or formula. There is really no need to feed him in the restaurant if you don't want to. As you said, it can be pretty messy. If you wanted to feed him am and pm in the room, you could feed him in his stroller, or what we did was one of us hold him while the other fed him. We also had a highchair wrap that gave our little one a bit more support in a high chair. You can also use the hold/feed plan and feed him on a bench in the park or another comfortable place before you eat your meals. Some places will let you bring a stroller in if the infant is asleep. Feeding before and letting him sleep while you eat might be a nice treat.

Great points, thing 1. Right now, he is just getting one tbsp at lunch and one at dinner (and I nurse before I offer it to him). I think we will try to do it before going to a restaurant - I think trying to do it in there would probably be a bit nightmarish for us lol

I had a portable "hook on" highchair when DD was that age. It attached to most tables. You can get them on Amazon. It was pretty convenient to stick in the bottom of the stroller to carry into restaurants.

I agree with Thing1, it's not such a big deal if you just feed than a tiny bit while they are sitting up in the stroller or something. It is all about practicing eating right now.

The baby care centers have high chairs with backs. We used the stroller as well.

Since solids are not critical at this age, I would not worry about doing them at all on a schedule. Instead, let him eat off your plate if he shows interest at the restaurant, otherwise, he can hang out on your lap or in his carrier, etc.

We had a big skip hop changing pad that was pretty stiff when it was folded up and clipped together with the plastic wipes package stuffed inside. We used it to prop our babies up from behind - kind of creating a second back in he high chair.
