How do you do this...

We would like to vacation for 10 days. Ideally, we would like to stay 5 days at VWL (our home resort) and tack on 5 days at Vero. At Vero we only have the 7 month window. Do we reserve the whole 10 days at VWL (just to make sure we get our 10 vacation days in) Then at the 7 month window try to reserve Vero for the last five days (if available) and cancel the last 5 VWL days? Any advice on synchronizing the different windows is appreciated.

I reserved 5 days at BWV at the 11 month window and then tacked on the 2 days at Vero at 7 months. Didn't have any problem at all. This was for the last week of May.I'd check to see when the Vero busy season is.. if you're going to hit that, then your strategy might be needed. I don't belive Vero is that busy in the summer.

If you know you want to be vacationing "somewhere" for the full ten days then your strategy is best. Chances are you'll get Vero either on the first try or by being on the wait list but it would be good to have the VWL as a back-up.

I agree, go ahead and reserve 10 days at VWL. We are going to stay there this September, but booked BWV (our home) at the 11 month window and cancelled that at the same time we made our VWL reservations at 7 months (they were wide open it turns out, but better safe than sorry!)
