How do you display your pin lanyards at home?

We are just back from a great trip. Everytime I go I pick up one or two pins that represent what I have seen or done. This time, I bought a lanyard to put them on when I got home.
I hate just putting it away.
What do you all do with your lanyards? Anything creative to display them at home somewhere?:goodvibes

We display ours on corkboards, my kitchen is decorated in Disney so it worked out to display them there. However, DH, myself and DD are all collectors so we have filled up more corkboards than we have places to put them, so what we have done is bought some of the pin books they sale at Disneyworld and we keep some of our pins in them and display our favorites on the cork boards.

I also use a cork board. Since I've only been the WDW once, I don't have too many yet but after my trip is Dec., I may have to buy another one. Another idea I have seen is taking a canvas that is stretched over a wood frame and getting some quilting batting and covering it and then covering the batting with a disney print fabric and then display the pins that way. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to once I get back in Dec. You might check the crafting board for ideas.

I make displays to hold the pins. These are canvas' that I alter with scrapbook paper and goodies. The "keeper" pins are on the top, the "trader" pins are on the ribbons. (When we go to Disney the kids each pick one pin for each park to keep to signify something they really liked that we never trade and keep as a souvenior. Then the rest of their pins are traders.)

My DH and I collect a resort pin every trip and display them in a shadow box frame. My one DS hangs his lanyards in his bedroom and the other displays his on a corkboard. The pins they got last month they pushed through their wood shelf and displayed them that way. It looks really neat. It was a great idea.

pixleyyy, those are GREAT!

i need to make something for all of our pins because i hate that our lanyards are stuck in a drawer.

I buy locking backs and put my pins on display around the house! I made a frame out of 3/4" lumber and ripped it down to 2" wide. Covered it with lining, cotton padding, and the black fabric. The center is an iron on.

wow fantastic displays!

i was thinking of getting foamcore and covering it with scrapbook paper/material and putting all of my pins on it.

i have 2 lanyards full of pins and i bought a few more the other day. i never trade, just buy for me.

pixleyyy: I take it you used your cricut for the words and the mickey head? Those look great! I do clocks like that but was afraid that the canvas wouldn't hold up to the weight of the pins. I'm glad to know it will.....I will have to try this.

I hang mine on a towel rack in my bathroom. While I'm getting ready in the morning, I'm reminded of all the good times at Disney!

War Eagle!

Last year my kids entered their pin collections in the local fair. We bought plain t-shirts from Michael's and put the t-shirt over a box. (we used a priority mail box) Then the kids put the pins on the shirt. We displayed them like that after the fair. I am attaching a picture. He had more pins in the center, he took them off before our trip because he wanted to take them with us.

We want to change how we display them. I like some of the ideas already posted on here. This year mom ;) (me) has started a pin collection.

Yes, I used my Cricut for the smaller Mickey head and the letters. The bigger Mickey head I made by cutting 3 circles and piecing it together.

Thanks for the kind comments! This reminds me that I still have to do my oldest DS's pin canvas...

i use wide, thick black ribbon/cord hung on ends of our 3 bookcases (7' bookcases) - around 50 pins each, top to bottom - easy to view that way, hanging down this way (since we have nearly 300 pins so far)

I leave them on the lanyard and hang them on my bedroom closet door. so every time I open the door they bang and clang and get me a little excited for our upcoming trip :woohoo:

I hang mine on all of our bed post...that way I can still see them...but not an eye soar...not that I think they would be...hehehe

My DSs are hung in his room on those command adhesive hooks, of which he has two lanyards pretty full of pins. When we went in Sept. he left all the pins at home he didn't want to trade. He gets them down every now and then to look at them.

We've got several shadow box frames, one large one on the wall for general family pins and another sitting on a table with our son's pins. He's really the only one that trades pins, so his collection is always changing. He takes out whatever he wants when we go on a trip and I find backs from the collection I have in my dresser. His lanyard is hanging on the corner of the large shadow box on the wall, without pins on it. ::MinnieMo

I have a pin book to put them in but before i bought it I put them around my closet door knob. You could find wall pegs and put them around those. :thumbsup2
