I was just wondering how everybody displays their Disney collectables. I ama woodworker and am currently building a display box/board for my wifes and daughters pin collections. Then I have drawn up plans for a Disney inspired shelf for our shot glass I mean tooth pick holders we have gotten at WDW over the years. I always build in a hint of the mouse weather it be Mickey Icons or maybe the shape of Mickey (as in the pin holders I am making)

So how do you display yours?

Thanks in Advance Dave Dionne

That sounds intersting!! I have a glass curio cabinet filled with various Disney collectibles and also a cabinet sort of a hutch or china cabinet piece that my Dad found at an antique auction. That is where I keep most of my Disney books and a few other collectibles. Both of those are full and I am running out of room for more stuff. I will have to get something else soon.

My DD made is making banners out of felt to hang on her walls with all her PINs on them. She has the fabric from Joanns, rod and robe from Micheals .

As for her other she has some framed stuff and a shelf for her snow globes and statues.

A curio cabinet for me but that is filling up fast. I will have to think of something else soon.

do you have a picture of your pin holders that you are making? my husband has been trying to figure out something to display all my pins

We have some of these just haven't been able to get enough banners .

She will just leave the card on and still pin them to banner.

This is just her Tink one she has started she is looking for maybe a castle one for her others.

Everytime we go to Disney we pick up a new Christmas ornament and a snowglobe. The ornaments go on our tree of course and the snowglobes go in our bookcase shelves. We have about 12.

I also collect Disney antenna toppers, smashed coins and Disney keychains. I made a special rack for my antenna toppers and the smashed coins are in 3 ring binders. I have about 400 of them. I am still trying to figure out how to display the keychains.

My DD and I also collect Disney pins. We have them in the pin trading bags.

I am currently building a display shelf for my wife's antenna ball collection. It will go in our study/computer room, where all of our other Disney stuff is displayed.

I use cork boards for unfinished sets then frames for complete sets (see all pics there for most of my sets)

Thats as recent of pics I have of my collections... Its added about 50 pins since Sept.
These are great thanks for sharing them.
What are the ones to the left of the 2 disneyland GWP sets?

I have mine stacked on cork boards waiting to frame but they are in a pile against a wall. I am trying to find time to put them up. Maybe on sunday.

My husband let me take over the hallway with a long curio cabinet and the walls are covered with all of our ride pictures. But I am definately running out of room fast. In my kitchen are my tinkerbell cookie jars and in our dining room are all of my disney teapots. I also have my build-a-bear Minnie that I built with my kids last year in disneyland. My family thinks I am nuts. But what is better than seeing all of the things that make you happy. But I am running out of room. And we leave for BCV in 2 weeks so I can't wait to shop. Have fun collecting everyone!

I have some pins framed: behind glass, on cork board, on framed boards.
Our computer room has a high shelf that covers two walls. And another wall has a nook with shelves.
Plus our house has those peaked ceilings with high wall shelves.
But I still have a lot of pins undisplayed....

One problem I battle is I am not a pack rat. (My mother was, so I tend to be the opposite.)
As a non-pack rat, and with no children/grandchildren, I have all these Disney toys new in package. I like them. But will never open them. And if they make it into a closet, I might as well get rid of them. :confused3
I like them too much to just Give Them Away even to a charity.
:confused3
Indecision is my downfall in any clutter. ;)

:earseek: wow !! it's great reading about everyone's collection's, I have 2 china cupboards where I display my collection but I have 3-5 plastic storage tubs with more in them and I rotate items......I have also redone our bedroom into a disney theme....dh is the best  I need to work on organizing my pins....have fun! :Pinkbounc

Here are a few of the pin frames I made. They aren't that great but I enjoy making them. I wish I had more time to do it so I could display all our other pins!

Here is on I made to look like a totem pole. It contains pins we bought on our Alaska cruise.

100_1551.jpg

Here is one I made to display pins from all the zoos and aquariums we've visited.

100_1550.jpg

This one looks like the Hard Rock Cafe logo and is for the pins we've collected from all the HRC's we've been to.

100_1549.jpg

This one looks like Mickey's head and is for all our Disneyland "land" pins.

100_1553.jpg

This is just a generic rectangular frame but it has a park map on it and old pins from each land on it.

As far as our other Disney stuff, it is pretty much scattered between our bedroom and home office. I never really made a specific home for it yet.

These are great thanks for sharing with us. They have given me some really good ideas. Lets see if I can translate that into actually doing something.

I have two curios for my large Disney snowglobes. One curio filled with Mickey, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the other curio all Disney Princesses Cinderella, Beauty, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel and Jasmine. My Disney pins are displayed in shadow boxes.

and posts. I will be putting up some photos of mine soon.
I am in the process of creating some etched doors for a display case now for some of my do not handle collectables. Early 1940's Donald Duck, A Jiminy Cricket pamphlet that came with a box of flashlight bulbs in the late 1950's, some Mickey Mouse etc.

Thanks again Dave

Sorry for the delay:
