How do you decide on a room?

Midship is best for least motion. We also prefer deck 6-8. Recently stayed on Deck 10 which costs more, but we take the stairs alot(healthy and impatient, lol) so we like having to just go up a few or down a few flights to get where we need. While I am a Deluxe girl at WDW,I am fine with inside stateroom on cruises, just have to have the split bathroom.

I thought my room..(5A) will have a split bathroom. Am I wrong?

Did this particular room have the accessible shower or a tub? I really like the extra space in the room but a tub would be a must with an infant traveling with us.

Wow. A lot variables go into picking a cabin for most people. I don't think anyone can really decide for you.

If you don't mind an aft room, 9670 (and the port side mirror room) have a HUGE wrap around balcony. The room is really open so you can actually walk around without difficulty. We loved it, BUT we love aft rooms. There is a lot of walking with aft rooms. This room has no pull closed divider and no split bathroom, but we thought it was totally worth it.

You're going to get a million different opinions with this question though. Good luck!

I could be wrong on this- but if you do 2 staterooms then won't your kids be charged as adults? My 5 year old is full price on our cruise..the only reason I can't justify a Disney Med Cruise yet.lol...maybe in 3 years...
We booked room 9544 on ours..5A..I think midship is best place to be on a cruise. It's really personal opinion. Good luck!

Yes, if you do 2 staterooms then all 4 travelers will be charged as adults; however, if you book 2 insides like the poster suggested, you will often come out about the same price-wise.

Kimberly, Yes, the 5A will. I was mentioning more for the inside staterooms. Not all inside staterooms have the split bath.

We like to stay right in the middle because it seems like it's easy to get to everything and we can just take the stairs a few decks up or down.

We are similar. Our selection goes something like:

1. Deluxe Verandah - cat 5. Preference for Cat 5A but 5B works too (never done 5C but I'd probably be open to that). Not sure I'd go for less than cat 5;
2. Preference for deck 7 (Magic) but have stayed on 6 and perfectly happy with that;
3. Preference for mid-ship for convenience but we've stayed aft and been fine with that. I don't feel any difference in motion between mid-ship or aft. Mid-ship just shortens the distance to all locations;
4. Provide request to TA. Take what I get. Twice it's been changed by DCL at the last minute. Once to upgrade us to a 4A, deck 8 (Magic) - we don't need the space and it's a little farther from the restaurants. It was fine but I wouldn't pay for a 4A. Once were nearly mid-ship and got moved more aft. A little less convenient but fine and it turned out that we were closer to friends so it all worked out.

Basically I don't fuss too much about the actual room number and I'm not super picky about the deck or location as long as it's a cat 5. We do actually spend a fair amount of time in our room and on our verandah but all of the staterooms we've been in were good so I've learned that agonizing over room location isn't really productive. I'm not sure what I would do if a cat 5 wasn't available for a cruise that I really wanted but so far it hasn't been an issue.

It has no tub. Just a huge shower, as this cabin was originally planned as HA, though it's not.
