I have a real nice Ham, I got a smoked shank half ham. I just love ham! I am interested to hear how you bake your ham.

I put whole cloves in mine on the top and then pour diet 7-up in it and bake. I used to use a ham glaze, but it use to make my blood sugar go up. We are not fans of pineapple, so I pass on putting that on the top, but know most people do.

I always love these kind of threads, as I always learn something new, so start posting! :goodvibes

I'm baking my ham in a renolds oven cooking bag. My family love pineapple so this ham will be covered with pineapple slices, LOL! I have had great results with cooking bags. It cuts the required time of baking and the meats are very tender. What are you making for sides?

I cook ours in a crockpot. I make a paste with about a 1/2 c. brown sugar, a dash of horseradish, and some dry mustard. I add enough Coke to the paste to get a good texture, and I coat the ham with the paste. Next, I pour a little Coke over the ham and enough at the bottom of the crockpot to make sure the bottom isn't dry. I cook it on low for about 5-6 hours.

I like using the crockpot for the ham because it frees up the oven for casseroles, rolls, etc.

If I make my own glaze, I use pineapple chunks, cherries, and guava jam-yum.

I coat my ham with either strawberry jam or cherry currant preserves. Then I pour a coke / orange juice mixure over it. It sounds gross but it sure does taste good.

We are just plain folk here. I just put some cloves in the ham and bake it.

This morning I stuck it with cloves and it's marinating in a bowl with pineapple juice, honey, some brown sugar, Guiness beer and little bit of grenadine. It's a recipe I created on my own, using bits and pieces from other recipes!

Just like mom used to....with nothing but a can of flat beer poured over it. It's so yummy, DH can't even eat his own mom's ham anymore without wishing she used beer.

The alcohol burns off so no worries for the kids and it makes it so juicy!

I have a spiral honey ham. It comes with it's own glaze....I am really liking the idea of Coke and brown sugar. Thanks :thumbsup2 I love Coke

I get the Heavenly Ham. You don't bake them. You leave them out to get to room temp then eat. It is delicious!

Tomorrow/Easter Sunday: I'm going to score the ham (smoked shank), then rub a brown sugar, coriander, cumin, cinnamon, paprika rub all over and bake it on the charcoal grill, in the middle of the grill with coals banked on either side of the grill and the grill cover down. The last 5 minutes on the grill I'll spread the ham with a pineapple-orange glaze. :sunny:
