Started reading the party thread and lots of people were mentioning chicken wings. Since I'm having a family party on Sunday....about 25 people, I thought these might be good.

I love buffalo wings, but have really only ordered them out.

Would love any suggestions on how to prepare them any which way?

(I have a ton of other food as well, grilled veggies, pulled pork, burgers, hot dogs, salads, fruit, etc..) This was just an extra I thought I might do.

Thanks so much!

We've just always grilled them like you would normally for chicken, then toss them in a big bowl of sauce, which for us is just melted butter mixed with hot sauce.
But if you're looking for pre-made sauce, Hooters sells their sauce in jars, and I believe Sweet Baby Ray's has a buffalo sauce now too that I've heard is really good.

Depends on how you want to cook them.

With it being summer, I would lean towards doing them up on the grill.

We normally go with both a hot wing and something else that is more mild (normal bbq or sesame/ginger sauce)

Toss the wings to get them nice and coated. You have to watch for flare ups from the grill due to fat dripping off into the fire. So someone has to man the grill.

Turn frequently for about 12-14 minutes.

Serve with blue cheese and celery. Very simple and from opening the pack to serving should be under 30 mins.

I usually marinate them in a teriyake sauce for at least 8 hours, bake them in the oven and then finish on the grill.

I start mine with a rub, pre-bake in the oven and finish on the grill. My sauce is hot sauce, butter and honey.

There's no way I'd do wings for 25 people. Did it once for 10 people and decided never again.

find your favorite local wing place and order them! I am from Buffalo and we don't cook wings for that many people.

I've done it in the winter. I made terriyaki wings. I marinated frozen wings while thawing for two days, baked them, then stuck them in a crock pot to keep them warm. I'd definitely grill them in the summer.

You can buy bulk wings/drummies and then add whatever sauce you want. I have a good recipe for sesame wings that is make. You could easily make them in a crock pot if needed, I do mine in the oven.

Thanks guys! Some great ideas.
May try them out on Saturday when there will only be 10 of us!

I've done this three times so far. I pick up the phone and call PJ's BBQ in Saratoga Springs and tell them how many people are coming, they suggest how many wings and I drive over and pick up the heated box. I've had wings here for 60+ people. (it's a rather large box).

DH just did wings for 38 last Saturday. He threw them on the grill and then tossed them in a pan with his award winning sauce and a lemon pepper sauce from his company. You can see his recipe for his winning sauce on his blog which is below my siggy.

We will be eating the last of the lefover wings tonight!

We do this for a few big parties every year. My wife bakes them in large pans in the sauce. They are so tender that the meat falls off of the bones.

If I cooked or ate chicken. I'd probably just chuck them in a crock pot with the sauce! LOL!

For a party, buy a family pack of wings and split them yourself. Chop the wing tips off with a cleaver, then cut them through the middle where they separate easily.

Spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes total, turning once about halfway through. Toss in Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce and put them in a foil tray. You can reheat them in the oven for about 10 minutes if you make them ahead of time.

Here are my instructions: Go to BJS or Costo, buy the big bag of frozen buffalo wings, cook in oven as directed. :)
