How do you convert someone?

My Dh only tolerates it too. He says it is a tourist trap. It drives him crazy that everywhere you look there are gift shops and they just want to suck the money out of your wallet. If he had his way all the time he would go camping, fishing, and just short weekend excursions. He is just not a vacation kind of guy. However, he does say that he enjoys seeing me and our 2 DS's have fun so he is a good sport about going. I think he usually ends up having a pretty good time.

I will say this.... if you and your BF are married and have children he may change his tune. I think WDW is always more magical when you see it through your children's eyes. If there are no children in your future you can always rent a niece, nepfew, grandchild etc.

I have often thought about what it would be like going solo....no DH or kids. It does sound kinda appealing to be able to do what you want when you want to, but I think I would get lonely after a couple of days. However, one should not worry how they look to others if they are alone. Others won't even notice.

I say allow someone to find their own reasons for liking WDW. It's kind of like watching a new movie with other people who've seen it and go "watch this scene, it's so funny" "this is the funniest part" "oh man, wait til you see this part." Especially avoid hyping WDW up b/c although some of us think this is impossible, it isn't for others. If you keep pushing the issue, your man may really come to like WDW on his own but won't like going back on his words and will always express how he detests Disney even if it does grow on him. Just my opinion. I may have completely misinterpreted what his character is.princess:

In response to the original posters question: I recommend therapy. :) (Electric shock if required for conversion.)

We should start a new "club" for the spouses/boyfriends/girlfriends who are not the most Disney like companions (as is my DH). I say my next trip I 'm dropping him off at the ESPN club and picking him up there at the end of our day. That way I get park time to do whatever I want, and he can watch sports all day, his favorite pasttime. Then the rest of us proper Disney fans cankeep each other company!!!!

What do you think??

One of my best friends claims to hate Disney World (yes i know...how is that possible?!). The thing is that she hasn't been there since she was 7 (we are now 21) and I try to explain to her that she needs to go again to really decide if she likes it or not. I don't think she can base her feelings for Disney World on one trip taken 14 years ago. Every time I go she is invited to come along but never takes me up on my offer. I guess in a way its better because if she came with me and then had a bad time she would ruin my trip to my favorite place on earth!!!

My sister went to MK for one day with her family and said she hates it and will never go back... guess which day they went?

Christmas!

Anyway, all those people who hate it can just stay home, then the lines will be shorter for the rest of us. :teeth:

But, with the crowds and the heat, it did NOT work out, and I had warned him before hand, this was NOT a good time to go. He went ahead and went to Visit his Sister about an hour away, and than went home.....I stayed and had GREAT time, meeting up with Dis-ers!:p
