How do you carry your 2 yr old in the parks?

We have used our baby bjorn carriers for our twin babies for the last 3 trips. They were 7 mos old, 13 mos old, and 18 mos old. Now, this next trip, they will be 2 yrs old and are approaching the 25# maximum weight limit for the bjorn carriers. I still feel I need some sort of carrier for standing in lines for rides, but don't want them all "stuffed in" a carrier which they have outgrown. Any ideas? What has worked for you? Thanks!

We have a backpack carrier that works well... but my back still hurts after awhile... is your stroller an option? We brought ours (the real one, not the umbrella) and it was worth lugging it. :wave2:

Honestly, we take turns holding them or letting them stand. I doubt that's helpful to you but them MAY surprise you!

For standing in line one thing you can try is the shoulders... Gets them above the crowds to see things rather than just a bunch of legs.

Whatever you decided I wouldnt go without SOMETHING. We have a 3 and 4 year old. We bought our single stroller only because our older DD refuses to sit in one. Well, she got tired farly quickly and we wound up renting a double stroller at the parks ....... just be prepared. ;)

a sling or a hip carrier are convenient. they are small, easy to pack and carry your child over to the side like you would naturally carry them without a carrier.

Our girls rode in the stroller between rides and walked in the lines. If they were particularly fussy, I might have carried them for a bit, but they were too heavy to carry around all day!!

Thanks for the replies! Yes, we always take our Graco double stroller to WDW -- wouldn't leave home without it! What I'm looking for is tips on what others do while standing in line for rides (normally we have to leave our stroller off to the side before standing in line), or other circumstances which may arise when the stroller is not an option. I see a couple recommendations for a sling or hip carrier. I will do some internet research to see what is available for the weight my kids have reached. Any other thoughts? Thanks so much!

I think for a child that age a mei tei would work best. They are like back packs, but don't stand out as far away from the body, and you can also use them as hip carriers, so they are more versatile. We have a Kelty frame back pack which is great for long hikes, but I wouldn't take it to DW because it doesn't fold up at all, and sticks out about a foot behind you. It is really comfy, though.

I have been using a ring sling and a pouch with my 2 year old, it's very comfortable for both of us. I have a Zolo from zolowear.com and a Hotslings from hotslings.com with the padded leg rail. It's amazing how comfy these 2 are, I could never use my Bjorn because of my dd's weight, but this distributes the weight so well over the back that it is very easy to wear. Just make sure you get the right size.

Consider the weather when you will be at WDW, too. When the humidity is high, I cannot stand all that skin-to-skin contact. I love my children dearly; but, sometimes, you can be too close for comfort. Also, as my comfort level decreases, their weight seems to increase. Personally, I'm sticking with a double stroller and dh's shoulers (Hee hee!) in May.
