How do you book a split stay?

I'm playing around on the website, pricing out different resort and dining options.

We are staying for 6 nights/7 days 3/31/14 - 4/6/14
Tickets: park hopper and water +
Accommodation options being:
BC with Deluxe DP ($5,589)
OR
BC with Premium package ($6,657)
(BC with a garden view room)
OR
CSR with deluxe DP ($3,883)
OR
CSR with premium package ($4,951)
(CSR with a preferred king room)

But the BC stay its fairly pricey but as its part of our honeymoon, and we're from Australia, I want to make the most of our WDW portion of the trip (also doing 1-2 nights in New Orleans for WrestleMania on April 6, a few nights (4-6?) in NYC and a about 4 nights in Las Vegas)

So I was thinking of maybe a split stay for 3 nights at each resort.

I definitely want to have the Deluxe DP, we are big eaters and I don't want to have to worry about paying for meals all day, every day. And I'd like the premium package but I think for the extra $1,068, we'd probably get away with just paying for the golf my hubby to be wants to play? But I'd also like to see Cirque and the little stars in the premium package are so appealing.

So. My questions are:

1. How would I go about booking a split stay? Would I be better off doing 7 day tickets on one of the accom reservations and just adding dining to the second? How do you do this online? (can't call as I'm from Aust)

2. Can anyone tell me if there is a price list for things like golf, Cirque, water sports hiring, tours and anything else included in the Premium package? (so I can work out what we WANT to do and see what the price diff would be between the DDP and Premium package)

3. Would it maybe be worth adding the DDP to one room res and the Premium to the other (and suggestions of which way to do it, CB with DDP or prem package?)

EDIT!
4. How would renting DVC points work in terms of dining plans and tickets? I don't know a lot about DVC except that your room isn't cleaned each day like the regular rooms? What else is different?

Thanks in advance DISers

I'd suggest that you use an online travel agent like Dreams Unlimited or many others that are available for you. We have recently used them and this has made the booking process so much easier given we are also planning the trip from Australia

You can't book restaurants online from Australia as you don't have a local phone number, you need to call WDW directly. If you use an online travel agent the travel agents will make all those reservations for you (you must reserve your restaurants up to 6 months in advance if you purchase a dining plan).

they will give you advice on your options and varying costs.

good luck with your planning

I think there's been very little response to your post because most people on this board are in the US and have limited experience with overseas bookings. For example, I know that booking in the UK and Europe is very different so it's possible that it is also different for Australian visitors. I know I would hesitate to give info that might be incorrect.

Here are a few links that might be more responsive:

DVC:

I don't know which sub board would be the best.

If you just want general info on the DVCs you could start a separate thread here on the Resorts board asking about the DVCs specifically. There are a number of DVCers who will explain the ins and outs of DVC.

Platinum & Premium Plan:

This is a long ongoing thread. As you can tell, it started back when you could do it with just a 1 night stay, but that has changed. You can also use the search function for premium plan to see the trip reports and additional threads that have been posted.
