How do you book a package with AAA?

Someone else's response to a question regarding AAA confused me so I just wanted to clarify. Can you book a package through WDW using your AAA? Do you have to book your package through your AAA office? Do you already have to belong and have a membership # to give when you book? Thanks!

Here's what we recently did:

Already AAA members we went to a AAA office (which was a pain in the you know what because almost all of the offices close at 5 pm).

Asked to talk to the Disney specialist who was working (who just also happen to be a former CM)

Did all the booking with her. If we had any questions or concerns she called up Disney and did all the talking.

When payment came up we gave her our AAA # so that we could get our discounts.

I am thinking that you could just walk in to AAA and book through them like you would with a travel agent, but you would not get the AAA discount.

Overall it was a very easy and painless process. I prefer to book my vacations with a real person in front of me as opposed to online or over the phone, so AAA was good for us. I am not entirely sure if you can book you WDW vacation through WDW and still get your AAA discount, but you can always just call up and ask a WDW representative.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

We booked directly through our local AAA office, you don't have to go in, you can do it right over the phone. We did have to go in and pick up all our documents, although, she probably would have mailed if I asked.

I don't know for sure, but I think you can only do room-only ressies with a AAA discount when you go through WDW.

You don't actually have to go through an office. I have done all of my booking from the comfort of my home/office. I got a quote and subsequent confirmation online. Most of my contact with my TA has been via e-mail...the only exception was just after I got my confirmation, I called her so that she could go over the little spiel of various polices/procedures. Frankly I actually prefer to do all communications via email as it always gives me a written response for proof.

I didn't need one to get a quote and I had my confirmation before membership ever got mentioned. When she did ask, I told her that I had just signed up that day, but hadn't received my card yet. She said, "No problem, just make sure that you have your card when you check-in." I never gave her my number. But from what I have heard, if you go through CRO, it is hit or miss, some ask you for it, but some don't. If they do ask and you haven't signed up yet, politely hang up and call again until you get one that doesn't ask.

CRO can give you the AAA rate on a room-only reservation. If you want a package you have to book with AAA. Not sure about the membership number.
