How do you attach your bounce?

I just purchased a LumiQuest pocket bouncer for my flash, it comes with velcro sticky tabs on the side to attach it to your flash. I paid $500 for my flash and I have a hard time attatching sticky tabs to it. How do you attach your bounce to your flash? Maybe I am just goofy, but I can't see attaching it in that manner. And if you do attach it that way, how do you slide your diffuser over the velcro tabs?

Thanks for your help.

I have a Lumiquest Omnibouce that needs velcro to attach it to the flash. I never even thought about it. If you really don't want to attach the velcro then get yourself the Gary Fong Lightshphere II. It slips over the top of the flash with no velcro and is also more versitle than the Lumiquest. The Lightsphere can be use in the same position with either verticle or horizontal position of the camera.

What flash did you get that is $500? That seems an awful lot for a speedlight flash. At that price it should come with its own diffuser.

I have some velcro straps that are hooks on one side, loops on the other.
They are commonly used as cable wraps and available in many places.

I just wrap a piece tightly around the flash head when I want to use my bounce card. When I'm done I just un-velc (I suppose that's what you would call the act of disconnecting velcro) it or slide it off.
If your bounce card has the hook side of the velcro attached put the strap on loop side out, or vice-versa.
Works like a champ, doesn't mark up the flash, and allows me to use different modifiers without any problems.

You can buy an elasticated band from Lumiquest called a "Cinch Strap" that wraps round the flash head and presents Velcro that your bouncer can attach to. It doesn't require that anything be stuck onto your flash head.

I have the Fong Lightsphere, which just slips over the flash. I'm not thrilled with it though.

I just received the Demb Flash Diffuser Pro and it attaches too without sticking anything on my flash. I haven't gotten to practice much with it yet though.

really, why not, this is the first negative comment I've heard on the lightsphere..

i've got a 580 ex and i had no problem putting the velcro on for the lumiquest. i have an omni-bounce that i also use when i'm not using the lumiquest - and that mostly covers up the velcro.

you can always grab some black velcro strips at target so it's less noticeable.

btw the white slide out cad on the 580 isn't really a diffuser - it's there so you can get a catchlight in your subject's eyes when you're bouncing
