Trying to decide on a late lunch, about 1:45, give or take.

Will eat here possibly, go back to Polynesian to relax and then on to Halloween Party around 6!

A good option?

I've had lunch there twice last year and once this year. The first two times, the food was very good. The last time, I didn't think it was as good as before. Also on my most recent visit, I learned that they had discontinued the red and green disk that used to be an indicator of whether or not you wanted antics. As I arrived, a woman was storming out in a huff because she was offended by the antics. If only they still had the disk, she could have put the red side up and probably had an experience more to her liking.

That's really good to know. I almost had DH sold to go with the promise he could flip the disk to red. Now I won't even try.

Our last trip two years ago we went for lunch around 1. Food was really good, but the atmosphere was really dull to us.

I had a nice lunch here last year. I had a sandwich...think it was like a fried fish or chicken kind of one? Very good. Also had a moonshine cocktail I enjoyed. Terrific server. And some entertaining waiter reactions to guests' requests for ketchup.

All in all a very good meal. It wasn't crowded either. It's a nice place.

Just ate a late lunch there in March, but I was staying at the WL. Lunch was pretty empty. I had never been before so I am unsure if the low crowds were due to half of the Lodge being under construction and occupancy was lower or people were just avoiding it thinking the construction would disturb them OR if its just a quiet lunch spot.

Food was very good! Its definitely cute and a family friendly environment. Not as much as 'Ohana, but there are kids riding wooden horses on a stick.

My only discouraging comment would be that it will probably take at least 45 minutes to take the boat and monorail to get back to Poly, but you mentioned a relaxing afternoon so that may not be a concern for you. I just get impatient lol

We have lunch here periodically and do enjoy it. Fun, yet relaxing, but entertaining and food is pretty good. On one occasion our server insisted we try the Wagon Wheels S'Mores dessert and she actually gave it to us "on the house" which was quite "magical" and it has been a tradition every since!! We have done Breakfast and Dinner there. For Breakfast I felt it was just so so for the food versus price. We liked dinner better with the all you can eat skillet format. Was really too much for the wife but great for me. In both cases the kids probably didn't eat their money's worth.

If you are a family of big eaters it is one of the better values on site. There are also good interactive activities for the kids. It is the last place to go for a peaceful of relaxing meal though.
