How do you activate the annual pass?

I am going to be buying the annual passes for my upcoming stay. I will have to buy them before I arrive at the hotel. Of course I am only doing this to save on the hotel room and my length of stay. Since I am using the AP for the hotel discount, I was wondering if the hotel would make me activate them at the parks before I can check into the hotel. How will I do this? How would I get on their transportation to go to the parks if I haven't "checked in" yet? I panic about these things and would like to know exactly what I am supposed to do BEFORE my trip.......

If they ask when you check in, show them the voucher. You can show them the passes the next day.

Just in case you didn't know, you only need one anual pass to get the AP rate. That might save you some cash. Just figured I'd let you know.

depending on where you are staying, you can ride a bus or monorail or boat for that matter to the main gate of any park. Trade you AP voucher at the guest relations desk outside of the park- it will only take a few minutes. SHowing your voucher at the check in desk at the resort you're staying at is usually enough to satisfy the rewuirement of hacing an AP if they ask to see it at check in. Don't be nervous- they CM's are usually very easy going- it really is a relatively painless procedure!

I figured it wouldn't be that difficult. It isn't like I am the first person to ever do this right! I am sure the front desk will be painless as usual. In fact, I can remember when I had forgotten my Disney Club Card one year but had my number written down on a piece of paper. The very friendly CM let me slide. He made my day. That is why I love disney!

From experience the fastest place to validate the AP is the back entrance to Epcot. If you are staying in this area this is the best bet. You sound like me. I stress over every point. Don't worry you will have a great time.

When DH and I purchased our AP's at our local Disney Store the CM suggested Guest Services at Downtown Disney might be the best place to go to exchange them. When we bought our original ones back in October 2001, we were able to exchange them at The Welcome Center in Ocala, but I hear you can't do that anymore.
