I'm sorry I know I've seen this in another thread and thought I followed it but cannot find it now.

I am staying offiste and will have one EMH. In parks Mon-Fri. On Tues, I have a 9:10 Minnie's Breakfast at Plaza Inn which is an EMH day but I don't want to use my one EMH til Thursday. How do they distinguish this? Anything I need to do on my end?

Thanks.

Yes! There is a special turn style entrance for the character breakfast. If you are coming from Harbor it is the last one, if coming from DTD it is the first one. There is a sign. You go there and tell them you have a reservation for breakfast and they will take care of you. I would also mention to them that you do not want to use your MM for this, just in case, so they don't mess up your ticket!

Thanks. This answers my question. We are familiar with the special turn style from WDW but didn't know if there was a specific thing to do if we wanted to "save" the MM. (I still cant keep MM and EMH straight. Even though I've read the difference several times now. lol)

If I were you I'd call and ask Disney directly - the reason being is we were in line with a family that wanted to do this exact same thing, and yes we were in the character breakfast/tours etc. gate to the far left. The CM said that if their tickets were scanned during early entry that they would end up using the MM and there was nothing the CM could do about it. Now could the CM have been mistaken - most certainly - and I honestly don't know what happened to them when they showed up later that week and tried to use their MM. We had APs at the time and were staying off site so we had neither MM or EMH. We do have park tickets this time and have booked our reservation for Minnie's on a day when EMH is at DCA so as to avoid this exact thing from happening - but if the prior poster above is correct then perhaps we did not have to do this.

We did this just last week. We did the Minnie and Friends breakfast on Thursday morning at 9:10 on a 10:00 a.m. regular opening day (it was an EMH/MM day). We activated out tickets and had pictures taken at the Character Breakfast gate. We had no issue using our Magic Morning on Saturday. I even forgot to mention it when we checked in to breakfast!

Good to know, thanks Susan!

That is good to know. I swear there are so many CMs that would do a much better job if they were on this forum!

I know it is likely not possible but I would swap and use my MM on Tuesday and do the breakfast on Thursday. That way they don't waste your MM for breakfast.

We had something similar to this happen - not the Character breakfast entrance, but we did a split stay (first on site and then on Harbor). On the Tuesday when I qualified for EMH due to staying onsite, I asked the CM at the turnstile to ensure that I was being let in on my hotel entry and not using up the MM (so I could use it Thursday when we would be staying offsite). The CM beside her said that wasn't allowed. The CM I was dealing with thought I should be and told me I should bring my room keys Thursday to explain (which I wasn't too pleased about, but we were the first in line with a crowd behind us so I thought I would just go to Guest Services and sort it our later). But then when I went to get a FP it revealed that the tickets weren't scanned, so I am wondering if that's how the CM let us in without screwing up the MM.

It did make me very wary of doing anything like that again, though....

I did it a long time ago (2011) - breakfast on Tues. MM on Thurs. and it worked fine. I didn't even think to mention it at the gate.

That may not be the case at all. We have had our tickets (APs at the time) scanned and gone in and went to get a FP and found they weren't scanned "properly" and had to go all the way back to the entrance to get our tickets scanned so we could use them for FP. That particular day it was a problem for many guests, but it apparently happens sometimes and I've seen it reported before.

I'm sure they weren't scanned properly; i just wonder if that was somehow done intentionally. She seemed to really not want to get into it with her fellow CM as she agreed I should be let in on the hotel EMH, but didn't know how to do that so that it wouldn't dock my MM. She just kept reassuring me with an intent look that on Thursday it would be "just fine!".... But if it had been up to the other CM, I would have had to use my MM or wait, even though I had a valid hotel key.

We had our tickets not work for FP at DCA where there is no MM. So it can happen. Luckily for us for the inconvenience they gave us all a fast pass for any ride!
