Hi I was wondering how they pick the kids for the Jedi training school? Would a costume help?
My DS is 7 and has allmost all of the Lucas Arts Jedi computer games and loves all the movies and has read most of the books and I think he would love this...... He has been asking for the light sabor( the pricy one behind the counter) in the Traders for 2 years. He has been looking at the web daily for updates and wants to go so bad but we told him we could only afford 1 trip a year and we went in Feb. And He does not even know we are going!! He thinks we will have to wait untill next year but we are suprising him and the 3 girls with this trip. (He and his sisters will go to sleep in the van thinking he is going to Grandma's in Mi and wake up in WDW!)
I was also wondering some of the things I read look like people get there early for this.... WE have P.S for the PSB in Epcot for breakfast at 8am ( to appease his 3 sisters) and then we were going over after that. Is this ok or will it put us at an disadvantage?
Also I read somewere that there is a street party in the evening also (does it have food like hot dogs )or should we skip it with 4 kids under 8yo?
Thanks in advance!:D

Hi! I'm fluffy too, trying to lose a little of my extra magic on WISH, though :teeth:

You know what I would do, if I were you, is post this exact same question over on the Disney for Families board. There are some real pros over there who know all about these special programs for kids.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question, so I'm going to bump this back to page one for you.

I hope you get photos of the kids faces when they realize that they aren't going to Grandma's after all. How exciting! What a great surprise you have planned :)

It seemed most of the kids were chosen from the front of the taped off area. The Jedi Master came out and did some tricks and stuff and the he just started walking around and picking kids it was very random but I made direct eye contact with him and had my hand behind my son and kinda nodded down to him. He picked him. My son was just 4 at the time and it was such a blast. This was in 1999 and Episode I just came out. Not sure it it the same now but from the pictures it looks like it except for the fact that in 1999 they did not dress the kids up in the Jedi costumes. I have seen later pictues with the kids all in costumes. So I would recommend that you are right in front so you need to be there early. Also the Backlot Express is right across from Star Tours. This is usually held right in between the 2 of them.

Jedi training? What is this? This is the first time I have seen this mentioned, and am very curious as I have a 5 yr old son who loves space. How can I find more information on this? Where is it and what time do we have to be there, etc? Thanks so much in advance!
