How do they know if you are a resort guest during the EMH? No flames please, we are staying at PC...just wondering how they get make sure that people who are not legit don't just stay and get lost in the crowd.

They have places set up around the park and you have to show them your room key and they give you a bracelet. Usually before you get on a ride you need to show the bracelet.

Morning EMH - you need to show resort ID before going thru the turnstiles.

Evening EMH - you need to show resort ID to get a wristband that lets you go on the rides.

In addition to what has already been said, when we did evening EMH at MK, the ride operators were checking each and every person's wrist for a band. We were happy to see it actually being enforced =)

So if we have 2 adults and 2 kids with room only (tickets bought at Disney Store before trip) we each get a room ticket?

Everyone in the room (up to room limits) gets a room ID card.

You get your room ID cards (room keys) when you check into the resort. Your park admission ticket which you might have purchased earlier may or may not be combined onto the same card.

If your room is not ready when you arrive at the resort you can still get room ID cards immediately that you can use for extra magic hours and then "return" to the room for the first time after midnight when you leave the park.

If it's just me and my DS12, can I just show my room key for the both of us or will he have to have his along too? TIA

You should both have them just in case.

We had to show all 5 of our room keys, our two and then one for each of our 3 children. We were told before hand at check in that we would need them and we just automatically showed them. I don't know what they would do if you didn't have all of them.

When we were there in March the CM only asked for the room keys for the adults. We were told that the children with us would not need to show a room key

My son and I were there the last week of April. In order to get wristbands, I had to show both room keys. I only showed one each time (at Epcot, MK and MGM) to see what would happen. Each time I was told they needed to see my son's key in order to give him a band.

During the morning EMHs, I only needed to show one key.

I think it's kind of odd that they ask to see a key for each person, but they don't check to see if the key is valid. :confused3

our 6 year old didn't hav eto show his for any of the EMH nights we did the last two weeks.

They might check the dates on the room key, once in awhile. You'd be mighty embarassed if they did and your key was from an earlier trip.

I had the same question as the OP when we were there this past week and weren't asked for our room key when we entered for Early Morning. I wondered how much this added to the very bad crowd that was already there at 8:30 a.m.
We found at night they were very good about asking for our room key prior to handing out wristbands.

They do often check the dates on the key. As for everyone needing one. That because many people are not honest. People would (and still try) to get a wristband by paying off a resort guest a few bucks to tell them they are with them.
