How do they know at the gate you're an on-site guest for EE?

Do you show them a special receipt or something at the gate? My husband asked how they know you're staying on-site when you try to get in with EE. I had no idea!

You have to show the charge slip from the hotel which shows your dates of stay.

Can anyone staying on property go to EE each morning it's offered? I asked the lady while reserving a room today (I know, I need to update my signature), and she said that it was up to the people at the front desk at the hotel. So just carrying around your receipt and showing it at the gate is good enough?

I did EE just last week. Since they allow guests to keep their hotel key card as a souvenir after check-out, showing that alone is not sufficient to get Early Entry. They specifically told me this when I asked during check-in. The written info sheet they provide also says to bring "your park admission, Hotel I.D., and room key for entry".

The Hotel I.D. is the paper "credit card" slip they give you that enables you to charge things back to your room. It has your name and departure date on it. The CM at my EE gate did indeed require me to show it.

In my family, I was the "keeper of the credit card slip" & the "keeper of the admission entry tickets" & the "keeper of the collected FPs".....period. All are important items to keep secure, yet handy.

Hey, I'm the official keeper of all DLR documents, too! It makes me feel much more important than I really am.

As far as I know, they shouldn't let you in with just a room key. They have always asked to see my charge slip.

They have always asked for the paper charge slip when we've been onsite guests and gone for EE. I've seen folks who just had their key card turned away.

As far as I know DLR does not encode all the info on the key card like WDW does, so if they just asked for your room key people could keep old keys (we have a stack of them) and get in for EE, thus why they want to see your dates of stay on the charge slip.
