How do the free treats work during MVMCP?

We are going for our first MVMCP ever this December! We’ve been to the Halloween party this year at DLR, but there are no included treats with that event. How do they work at WDW? Do we just walk up and get whatever we want? Can you get more than one of something (DD loves the pretzels and I saw there is one on offer this year!)? Are the lines long to get the treats? Are they available throughout all hours of the party or do they cut it off early?
Thanks!

When we were there in 2015 there were ‘treat stations’ set up at different locations throughout the park. Our year we were offered cookies and hot chocolate. There may have been other options but I can’t recall, definitely not pretzels! That would have been nice! You just get in line when you want something. The lines were long but moved pretty quickly and if I recall correctly treats were available pretty much the whole night.

The map tells you where and what the treats are. Last year we even had blue raspberry ice snowballs!

The lines do varyBased on how popular the treat is
Last year was one of the first, may have been the first, where they offered varied treats instead of the same at each station.
I can't recall which it was now but the cookie and drink offered over by people mover and Astro orbiter had a really long line. Took forever. Most of the other stations were not bad
I bet the pretzel will be very popular. Hopefully it's in more than 1 stop

You wait in line and show your wrist band and they give you the goodies for each person.
You're welcome to go back and stand in line if you'd like more but they don't hand out as much as you want each time.

The treats at the Halloween party (both DLR and WDW) are considered to be the candy and snacks you get on the trick or treat trails.

Great and thanks. I looked at doing the dessert party for the fireworks during the party, but it seems like a better idea to just take advantage of the freebies that night since the view for the fireworks is not critical for us. Thanks all!

So everyone in your party that wants a free cookie has to wait in the line too? I was hoping it could be just one of us waiting.

From the link above...

That's how it has worked the several times I've gone.
You have to be able to show your wrist band. You wouldn't believe the number of people that walk up that did not purchase a party ticket trying to get the perks.

We've done many MNSSHP but only one MVMCP, but they let me get cookies and cocoa for my family of 4 while they waited in line for the seven dwarves.

How are they allowed to still be in the park? Seems like a better system is needed.

They aren't really but there are times they miss a few.
This could change this year though, with the 1 hour between park closing and the party start. This may help them clear guests.
Before, the non party guests could come in right up till the start of the party, even though there's be little reason to, technically, nothing stopped them.
Now, no one can enter after 6:00 without a party ticket and it will be easier for them to begin to clear those without bands out. It's the first time they've tried this method so remains to be seen if it helps or not

We found it to vary based on the station and time of day. Admittedly we went several years ago when it was just cookies at every station, but we did have a few CMs especially towards the end of the party who would give us as much as we wanted. A few times we asked for the healthy snack (the pre-packaged apple slices) and they just gave us handfuls.

Can’t wait for the first party to get some reports from the field!

Last year, I tried to get cookies and cocoa for my family of four, but they said I could only have one at a time. They still gave me the extra, but the policy is apparently that you have to be in line to get the treats. It makes sense, but I had tired kids sitting on a bench in need of sugar-induced patience.
