How do people handle the water rides?

When we went to IOA in October, I didn't do as much homework as I thought I did. I didn't realize how wet you can get on the three water rides, so we ended up not doing them. We are going again in May, but this time with my daughter, so I'm better prepared having been there once and knowing a little better what to expect. So how do people dress for the water rides? DO they change into bathing suits before hand or just go as is and let the sun to its job? I hate walking around in wet clothes. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I don't know how everyone does it, but here's how I've done it before and how I'm planning to do it again:

Bring a change of clothes and store them in one of the front of park lockers so you don't have to carry them around. Save the water rides until right before you either go to lunch or switch parks. Go on all the water rides you want, as many times as you want. When you've had your fill, walk back to the front of the park, change clothes and freshen up, then head to lunch or the other park. At the end of the day, don't forget to grab your wet clothes back out of the locker before you leave!

Of course, this assumes that you spent your morning in clothing you don't mind getting wet. If you're wearing jeans or your best pair of walking shoes, you might want to go the slightly longer route of storing a bathing suit and sandals in the locker, changing into those before you go on the rides, then changing back into dry clothes when you're done.

We have at least 1 scooter every time we go, so we have a small backpack with our change of clothes that sits in the scooter front. When we're done, we change in the bathroom. If we don't want to get super wet, we bring a poncho and flip flops and let what still got wet air-dry.

You won't dry on your own. Florida is really humid and the water rides are incredibly good at getting you wet. I walked through a pair of pants after those water rides! Completely shredded from crotch to knee by the time we got back to our hotel, lol.

If it's sunny out you will dry on your own, however avoid wearing thick clothes that will take forever to dry.No way I'm bringing a change of clothes to ride the water rides,I simplify not complicate the situation.Wear a dri fit type shirt and shorts and you will be dry within 20 minutes of getting wet.If all else fails and you don't like being wet IOA has installed these body dryers where 3-4 people can fit inside and dry off, they however cost like $5 to run,I've never done it though.

Being a Brit who is currently sitting here experiencing snowfall, I would give anything to experience a IOA water ride in the intense Florida summer heat right now! :cool1:

Not an answer to my question, but best comment so far :lmao:

I didn't know they had body driers. So do I use spin cycle or what? ;)

Are there lockers through out the park or only in front?

We stay on site, so we wear dri fit clothes (regardless of the water rides, they're just cooler) and do the water rides at IOA last and do them over and over and then head back to the hotel. We all wear keens in the summer so we don't have to worry about wet sneakers & socks.

I think we do dri fit clothes. The kids wear rash guards and DS wears a swimsuit instead of shorts. We haven't beent to Universal yet but we've done KRR a ton of times and those clothes really do try quickly and look fairly neat even wet.

We also wear crocs or other rubbery sandals.

We usually stay at Hard Rock. Typically what we will do is one day around early afternoon we will go back to the resort and change into swim suits and flip flops.

We then return to the park and use Express to do the water rides over and over and over again.
