It is against the rules to have any electronic device turned on below 10,000 feet but I doubt a plane ever crashed because someone had a camera running.

They get away with it by pulling out the camera after the flight attendants sit down. If a FA sees it, they will tell you to turn it off.

To be honest, I have a video on my I-Phone of landing in Atlanta. Shhhh;).

Flight attendants tell you to turn off your electronic gadgets -- if it has an on/off switch then it needs to be turned off for takeoffs and landings.

A guy next to me didn't want to turn off his cell phone and the flight attendant offered to have the plane taxi back to the gate so he could be escorted off. He reluctantly put his phone away.

You are not allowed to do that. You're also not allowed to speed on the highway. People get away with it because FA's aren't constantly checking. At some point they need to strap into their seats.
