We're going to book the DDxDp for our January trip. It's just hubby and myself and we'll be at the Boardwalk Villas for four nights so we'll have 24 credits. We're going to do three Signature meals, hubby is a meat eater and I like seafood. We've been to WDW many times so this is going to be more of an eating/relaxing trip than a parks trip. Here's our plan so far:

Wednesday 01/07
Dinner at either Spoodles or Raglan Road followed by an evening at either the Boardwalk or DTD. (2 TS) We've been to DTD tons but I'm thinking the Boardwalk may be dead on a Wednesday night in January. Any thoughts?

Thursday 01/08
Earliest possible somewhere in Epcot, Le Celler maybe? (We'll sleep in and skip brekkie.) (2 TS)
Walk around the World Showcase
Late dinner at Artist Point (Hubby's choice!) (4 TS)

Friday 01/09
Breakfast at Spoodles (Hubby wants at least one big breakfast.) (2 TS)
Maybe walk over to MGM for a while. I want to ride Toy Story Mania.
Earlyish dinner at Flying Fish Cafe (my choice!) followed by (hopefully) an evening EMH at Epcot. (4 TS)

Saturday 01/10
Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or Kona Cafe (2 TS) I can't decide if it's worth leaving and returning to the Magic Kingdom to eat at Kona. On the plus side, hubby can have a beer with his lunch at Kona. Or I could use my two extra TS (see Sunday) to book Cinderella's Royal Table. We're not that into the characters but it might be fun to eat inside the castle. What do y'all think?
Late dinner at Narcoosees (4 TS)

Sunday 01/11
Breakfast at Captains Grille before we drive home :( (2 TS)

That leaves us with two credits. (I think, if I've added it up right. I was a liberal arts major ;) .) We'll could use these to fill in if we get hungry or book CRT instead of Kona/LTT. I can't think of anything else to do with them, maybe pick up sandwiches for the drive?

So, what do y'all think?

Looks pretty good...here are my suggestions to fine tune it a little bit...

Looks like you are having both dinner at Spoodles and then breakfast at Spoodles another day. Spoodles will be close and convenient for you but I would probably trade in the breakfast at Spoodles and maybe try Ohana breakfast at the Poly. This will give you a good chance to check out the Poly and I think their breakfast is better (two words, Tonga Toast).

Since you will actually have two credits remaining before you leave, I would probably trade in the LTT dinner (fairly pedestrian, if you ask me, decent character interaction though) for a signature place like Hoop De Doo Revue...your husband will thank me later. Fun show, good comfort food and all-you-can-drink beer and sangria. A very interactive show but not pushy to get you involved if you just want to sit there and eat and watch.

Ooh, I hadn't thought about the Hoop de Doo! Hubby doesn't like characters or hijinks but he loves beer and barbeque. Maybe we could do that our first night instead of Spoodles or Raglan Road.

I knew there was a reason to post this here. GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just took a look at the menu and DDP info and, Diszy Dean, you officially ROCK :worship: . I'm going to book Tier 1 for the 9:30 performance. Woohoo!!

You are welcome...You and your hubby should have a great time....As I said, it is often one of the highlights of every trip we do....

Yes beer and sangria are included! I can't wait for the Sangria - DH will probably order a different beer since I think it s Bud that is free?!

Double check all-you-can-drink beer and sangria. I HIGHLY doubt this is true..

Yep, its true...

In fact, they got tired of refilling our glasses so they eventually just brought us a pitcher of both...glad I was not driving...:faint:

Bud Light is Scott's beer of choice. We are soooo golden here! :cool1:

True Story (I pinkie swear.)
We went to the Hoop way back in the early '90s It was me, hubby, my mom and BIL (oh, and the kids, almost forgot about them :rolleyes1 ). I always brought lots of babysitters to Disney! Mom had water, BIL tea, Scott and I ordered beer. Kiddos had milk. The waiter asked us where we were from.

"Why, Louisiana! How nice of you to ask!"

Every other table around us got individual mugs of beer. Scott and I got our very own pitcher! Someone must have told them we were coming. We had a second pitcher before dinner was over although I believe BIL had at least one glass from that one. I ain't gonna lie though. Scott and I can drink some beer. It's the South Louisiana hollow leg syndrome. I blame it on all the crawfish boils and the crab boils, the fish fries and the cochon du laits and...well, you get it. Besides, it's really hot down here.

I was born and raised in BR, and lived there my first 30 years. I now live about 35 miles north of BR, but I am working a temp job in BR right now. My oldest dd is back living in BR, working and going to college.

What area of town are you in? I am sure you don't want to be specific on a public board, but just a general vicinity? Did you go to school in BR?

I went to Woodlawn High School, quite a few years ago!

Anyway, it's just cool to see someone that's nearby!:yay:

Hi Neighbor!

I spent the first 15 years of my life deep in the boonies of Cajun Country but went to high school in the New Orleans burbs (thus the hollow leg). Met hubby at LSU.

DH is a Baton Rouge boy born and bred. Belfair Elem, Westdale Middle, Lee High (Class of '73).

We've been in the South Baton Rouge area for the past 26 years. It's crazy how it's changed. Scott's family moved out here in 1965 when it was the country. We've got one kid (DS) who's a recent LSU grad and one (DD) who will start her junior year in August. I guess you could say we're an LSU family, esp. since hubby's mother, father and grandpa all graduated as Tigers!
