How do I use Uber from MCO to WDW?

I have never used Uber or Lyft before anywhere. But I think it is the best option for my upcoming trip and I was just wondering if someone could explain the basics of how to use this service.

I can figure out how to use the app and order a ride but I have a few other questions:
-How does the driver know where to find me?
-How do I know where to find the car/driver?

Any other tips would be extremely helpful as I have no idea what I am doing.

I've used Uber -not at MCO- but I believe there's a dedicated pick up and drop off area at each terminal.

Just used Uber this past weekend. There is a dedicated area for RideShare apps. For me, our luggage carousel was closest to #1 (I believe the sign also mentioned #14) so we ordered the Uber and it was there within 5 mins. They tell you the car type, license plate, and picture/name of driver. I just wave to them when I see it coming.

Same deal going back to the airport - just go outside your hotel or wherever you will be and be on the look out. It was VERY quick getting an Uber to go to the airport - 1 minute. Don't order it until you have your bags and are ready to get in a car.

We had a good experience in both directions.

Location services. You will appear as a dot on the driver’s map, and the driver’s car will appear on your map.

Hope you don’t mind me butting in with a question. I was wondering about tipping for Uber and Lyft. I’m from England, so used to tipping about 10 per cent. I know restaurants in the US expect double that amount. Does the same apply to Uber? I am happy to tip more if it is customary, but no point doing that if I don’t need to! Is 20 per cent the norm over there?

On UBERs web site they state approx $54 from the airport to Yacht club. How realistic are their estimates generally and is this a decent price for an "XL"?

Just know that surge pricing can happen at any time; that price could double if a surge is happening.

We arrived recently on a Friday and at about 4pm the price of an xl to Pop had surged to about 150 dollars. However Lyft was still at about 54, so we took one of those.
