I am trying to start doing this as well. I have went every other year for the last 20 or so years, and in the past we have always went to every park every trip, and have never done a resort day. We always rope drop and have plans to maximize. My kids are now 16 and 22, and still love Disney. We haven't been in last 2 years. I just bought DVC - so we will be staying at nicer resorts, and I will be doing some trips without kids. I would like to go about 3 times a year - mostly 3-5 night trips and will be doing more resort days then park days. My boyfriend of 6 years is not so keen on disney - but he does like being at a resort and spending time at the pool. He has only been to disney once - he went with friends and they spent 2.5 hours waiting in line for flight of passage in the heat. He likes disney movies and he is a fun guy, I am hoping that if we do Disney the right way - he will enjoy it. I have a 4 night trip planned in October with just my boyfriend for my birthday. One night at AKL and 3 at the Poly. We planned to do 1 water park day, one epcot day (food and wine) Probably just one dining reservation, and I am debating adding the halloween party. I also have a trip planned in december with my boyfriend and my 2 kids - 4 nights, ( 2 at boardwalk, and 2 at animal kingdom lodge) we might do both xmas parties, or both xmas parties and an epcot day, or just
jollywood and an epcot day. tbd. At this point in my life, I am committed to fully indulging in going full disney adult. I figure if I go regularly I dont have to feel like I have to do it all every time.
