How do I stop this porn spam????

My inbox gets about 2-3 of these e-mails daily. The subject of the e-mail is often just "Hi" or "Hello", and the e-mail is from a person with a first and last name. The e-mail itself is an invitation to a website that offers sex with married women/men, naked girl photos, sexy co-eds etc. But the website address is usually something along the lines of www.hot marriedchicks. com and the address is ALWAYS followed by the poorly written disclaimer: "oppssy, delet space before come!". I've been getting them daily or about 3 months now and it's getting ridiculous.

I've never ever actually looked at any of the websites they keep e-mailing me about. They all are yahoo.com e-mail accounts (like mine). How can I make these perverts stop flooding my inbox with this garbage???

you cant-unless you change your address NEVER use it for ANYTHING on ANY web site-but you can turn spam filters on and delete your junk mail automatically

Don't open them. If possible, only open stuff from names you recognize. I know, sometimes it's easier said than done. But it really works.

For me this stuff comes and goes in waves. If I'm very careful not to open anything from anyone I don't know, it stops within I'd say 2 weeks. Can't explain how, but I'm sure someone else can.

I'm serious guys. I often recieve e-mails for my business at this address and very often they are entitled "Hi" or "hello" too, so I HAVE to open them. It sucks! And I believe I already said that I have never visited these sites or any "pornographic site".

If I can't stop them, does yahoo offer any filters?

don't know about yahoo, but you really can't stop them. i get them at work too and my work e-mail is not signed up for anything nor on the internet anywehere. it sucks.

Oh I know you're serious. I was getting them there for a while, but the questionable material did show up in the subject line. There's that little feature that previews my email as it comes in on the menu bar. Well, during a meeting where my laptop is being projected to a room full of people, I get messages like "grow the size of your ***" etc. So, I know you're serious!

For now, perhaps deal with it within your email application. Do you use Outlook? If so, you could perhaps set up a "junk" folder and then establish some rules that messages containing certain words - are automatically sent to that junk folder. Then just check that folder periodically to be sure nothing was accidently sent there and clean it out, without reading the stuff.

Does that make sense? For the most part it should work. Just think about some words which are potentially contained in those messages (that should be fun) which would not be contained in a legitimate message.

Can you set your Outlook View to Autopreview? It will show the first couple of lines of the message before they are opened. You could then delete the offending ones without actually opening them.

At work we have a fairly tough spam filter but this crap still get through every once in a while.
