How do I start a PJ

Hi Disney Friends....

I am wondering how to start a Planning Journal. Is it just simply a thread in that forum? Or something more specific? Also I have notice a lot of people PJ's have links in the very first post can anyone explain how to do that?

I hope I am making sense and that I am asking the right questions. I am just really starting to plan my Disney Wedding and Honeymoon so I want to get started sharing my planning!

I'd like to know the same thing. I'm technologically handicapped and I could use a PJ/TR tutorial.

How do I include pictures?
How do I reference previous posts (you know, with the yellowish box? I think it's called quoting?)
How do I change the title of my PJ when I update?

Are there other things we need to know?

Any help would be amazing!

Welcome!!
Scroll to the top of the page.... you see planning our happily ever after? click there. That's where everyone's pj's are. Just start up a thread just like you did here. Most people use their names, dates, and locations in the title.
For pictures, photobucket is most common and easy. Just create an account, upload a picture, and use the paste the IMG code where you want the picture.
To change the title, go to the first post, at the bottom right you should edit, then "go advanced." click that and you can edit the title.
To quote, in the bottom right you will see quote. Click that. The code will appear at the top of your post. If you want to quote multiple posts, just click the " next to quote on each one you would like to quote. Hope this helps!

And to add to that when you want to update the title of your thread you go to your first post in the beginning of the thread, click edit, then click go advanced. A new window will open with the title line open to change. When you are finished just click save changes!

So I have figured out how to put photos into my posts... but how do i put links to specific posts in my first post....

ie. so when new people start looking after I have many pages they can link to see just my ring or our engagement story... or my dress etc etc

When you find the post that you want to link to, you'll see that the upper right hand corner of that post has a number that you can click on. (For example, this post will say #7). That opens the post on its own. Then you type whatever you want the link to say. Highlight the text, and click on the icon on the top of where you post called "insert link" - it looks like a globe and a chain. Just copy the link for the individual post there, and you've got it!
